The Other Belmont Preview for 27/7/19 by TMP (still)

West Australian Racing
The unanswered questions are - how soft will the track be
                                                  -  will it be a go for the leadeing group like last Sat
or- will upfront be poison like last Wed..
I am just guessing that the inside pad was protected on Wed and now will be revealed again. It probably will just play even!

R/1 The last start brilliant speedster winner Mia Dolce has blown to 5's!
I will tumble in to the two newbies.
The fave in the cerise and white with WP up was a good trial winner but a bit slow in my opinion.
The second fave ran a faster time and was equally impressive and has blinkers on but a bad barrier.
I have coupled the two but do like Excellent Dream.

R/2 I am looking at 1,2 and 3. The gamble is that Bel Pago will be too far back.
Shapita ran a great second in the Placis Ark; so I am hoping she is really on the way up (you know I am a fan of PC now).
Metro Boy has been inconsistant in the past but the last run may be him turning a corner.
Ascot Gold has really been running time lately and if the track improves and he burns across?

R/3 I have gone for Essential Spice with WP up; she deserves a win tomorrow.
Shinju has eased a little.

R/4 I call this a 2100m pin job; you can make a case for any or all of them!

R/5 You cannot leave Beat the Devil out here; if Fair Trade has an off day he would look good.
Festival Miss blew in the betting late and raced accordingly last time giving me indigestion; maybe in season, maybe a bee sting, maybe accidently had too much water to drink pre race; I am bluffed!

R/6 Gee, it looks a eo horse race to me here.
The big feller LHMR is amazing odds here at 3.3
Double Digit is v v capable on his day ($268,000 prizemoney).
I'll stick to the younger one.

R/7 My original pick Sovereign Trade is out to 21's from 13's! Maybe he has benn so lightly raced because he has a lot of problems; but he is great on his day.
Deception Game will have to come from a long way back but I think he is up to it; v lightly raced young horse with potential.
Last time I had Fred Dag going for a Motza with the Velvet King; I am just a little strained to see Fred lob again.

R/8 I looked at 10, 14 and 8 here.
The Fugazi has always shown promise; so you are taking the shorts hoping he is now on the way up.
I have liked the look of Zephyr Queen's wins; yes I know she is blowing to 17's but I cannot leave her out.
Recharger loves to bowl along out front and is I believe coming back to form; so will not leave out this longshot.

Any hints gentleman are appreciated by my me.
You must listen to WA TAB racing preview in the morning tomorrow; always some interesting ideas; but no moe trainer or jockey interviews pre-race please!
+1 -1

you didnt happen to catch the race then?
I would say something wrong with the saddle, ran off on the bend then jock couldnt control it in the straight... laying all over the place.

Why is his right leg cocked out like he’s taking a pish

And they weren’t my claims I was just agreeing with what I saw on the replay after someone else posted about it... no beef from me as I was all over the winner at the luxurious odds of $5.50 last night

The horse was hanging/laying out. Looked like he lifts the leg to try stop it from hanging lol...

    Stewards report:
Raced wide and lay outwards throughout. Rider advised his mount felt uncomfortable in its action and raced greenly throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to have returned with an elevated heart rate. Trainer advised the gelding will now be sent for a spell.
