The Other Belmont Preview (still) by TMP 25/5/19

West Australian Racing
A diiferent track plays differently; except for real good horses and there's not many of those!
So will we see more strong horses catch the weakies that dash away on the turn? We will know shortly.

R/1 Becos it's Belmont, I left out the fave here. It would be great if the topweight won the race that has his name on it; he has the best form in my opinion. Kelvin is rather short, so does the old maestro have a good one up his sleeve here? I would have to put Red Can Man in after that v good first up run; looks like the distance should really suit.

R/2 4 chances here with the fave a bit of a doubt second up? Mrs B's B is v consistant; may plonk just behind the speed of the resurrected stronger Majinika. The fantastically in form TOS loses PH but gains BK. This is a great race I think.

R/3 I'm still recovering from 2 weeks ago when I was sure To Rise Again had been knocked off; maybe Belmont will not suit him as much.
I've gone for Lido Beach to knock off the fave here; the rider is good too! Lido Beach is a progressive type with the unreadble LS as trainer.

R/4 Sorry Durtle, I have left out STR and may well regret it as the trainer and rider have been stunning lately.
The fave is a must to go in of course; anothe of those Statue of Liberty's!
I just thought that if WP does one of his (too) daring rides, Finally French could pinch this; he can do real good sectionals at the end of his races.

R/5 I have had a tickle here but forgot about Inflation; there was something wrong with either the horse or jockey or both at his last run.
I went for the fave NTBM. He looks v strong at the end of is races. Somehow I backed him when he won his maiden when I happened to be in the shop to take some feature all ups. He has progressed amazingly since; a good yard!
I took Son Of Bacchus in all ups at 18's; thought it was aluxury price; gone now, in to 10's. If you look at his past form it is v impressive where every horse who beat him has gone on. There was one barrier trial at Belmont that was quite something.

R/6 This is a complete raffle. Horses 2,3 and 8 stand out for me.

R/7 I am standing out Wanna Be Good here; hoping for a good LS day. His runs have been v strong at the finish; track should suit.

R/8 The youngies stand out for me.
The Velvet Touch has never seemed to run great time; but he did great first up ; neve shirked his task against I belive a stuuning winner that day.
I put in Mystery Miss on her amazing potential; able to produce a super  finish; all in such a short career; with a track that should really suit.

Well, there we go for an exciting first day back; wish I was there fella's. All the Best.

R4 Just A Fluke each way
R5 Megazone is at ultra generous odds..Each Way all day but I think it can win.
R6 Midnight Sky is the best bet of the day
R7 If it gets a start I would not ignore Boxonlucy
R8 Recently returning to the Andrews stable Senorita Bonita could be a surprise packet

Pikey $17, $6, and a $4 treble - of course only rides and wins on favourites. Finished the day off nicely at York with a $8 winner too.

Wow $17. The Kalgoorlie and Esperance beer will be flowing tonight. The Prospector train back to Kalgoorlie full of cash.

Securing Pike - advantage to them - especially at $17.

The old SP price's more than ever can have a journey from the early markets.

Which is a good thing - competition is good. Sometimes "overs" sometimes "unders" knowing when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em is the key!

However knowing when to run...to the odds that is...the most important.

    Just take the early price regardless and go again if it drifts riders... no need to bring Johnny cash into the equation 8-}

Hahahah not Johny Cash it's Kenny Rogers haha.

For many years those astute horsemen who bring horses to town from the bush - be wary! Their no fools.

Wonder out of curiosity when they settled upon and then secured Pikey knowing him to be in demand. They weren't wasting his time that's for sure, in preparation he was the icing on the cake.

Did the early price assesor realise Pike was aboard ? You'd think so. Would I go up $17 about a Kalgoorlie horse in winning form with Pike riding ? Not on your nelly!

Battle Torque did SP at $17 and been told $17 was available Moschard.

Now will award $100 to anybody who can answer this question and prove it...good luck with that!

Do both/either/none win if Pike not aboard ?

I heard there were only 3 bookies in the main ring. true?

battle torque no because the horse is a cat... moschard yes because Fernie is no mug when he brings them to town and we all know winning form is good form

I checked Saturday morning and Moschard was showing as having firmed from $17 into $6 I think. How much could I have got on at the $17 if I had seen it? History says no more than $31.
    It's a joke.

I believe that $17 was available for literally two minutes. I tend to think they monitor their prices as soon as they open and anything that attracts immediate attention probably gets dropped ASAP.

You're right though, someone probably had $20 on it and that was enough for them to drop it down

if it was me I could have got on for hundreds!
they never wind a horse in when I back one which is why I firmly believe each account is individually monitored and restricted accordingly so take it as a compliment Rodent
