I'd love to be there dont get me wrong--but the quality of horse is rubbish for a $120k race.

True there could have been a bigger field and there are better horses that should be in it. I am just waiting for the right Comment on the race. (Just for now it's a Tekret) ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Fim Maru looks to be a chance at good odds.
Ran on well first up, had a really good campaign last prep.
Fairly even race this yr with no real stand outs.
FM should sit just of the pace with its draw, and work home nicely.

    What no takers.?????

Escadaire to cut from wide draw for the Lead.

Local Legend (usual Leader) with top Jock, held lightly for final Sprint.

Fim Maru to sit pairing Local Legend.

And the Swooper will be. ????????????????

Escadaire and Wire Detonator to fill the placings ....

I'm on the big Fim aswell, huge run first up. Has to be one of the most honest horses going around.
Should get at least 8's i hope

Pressed for a tip, I'll go Tarzi.

I'm keener that I can find the Cup winner.

Russell Hanson is not a bad Jock but I think if SAFFRON FIRE had a more expierenced Jock it could be the Swooper.

Fim Maru has a fair form history. My question though would be has the horse improved or has Pat Carbery who is riding it improved the horse. It really did well on it's last run.
  • JordanJordan    1,827 posts
I backed Fim Maru first up and ran a bottler, if it can improve will go very close.

Think Tarzi, Fim Maru and Escadaire boxed trifi

I can see ESCADAIRE/LOCAL LEGEND/FIM MARU being so busy among themselves (even if Jocks have backward glances) that LARSON will say, '' Thanks very much" and take the Prize. ??????????/

Fim has had a life long battle with poor feet. Since Easthope has had him his feet have been managed correctly and I think results have spoken for them self.
(I'm not an owner in this horse for the record)

    FROM the Race book.
''Escadaire will have to go forward from a wide draw.

Local Legend a leader will want to FOLLOW.

Fim Maru will not want to be left out.

Ladies and Gentlemen choose you'r WINNER. or pray for you'r Swooper.

    Geez at 21 & 6 i will have a bit of Tarzi 8)

I saw him in the yard last start at Belmont and he was definitely carrying a bit extra and will stick by my intial statement that i think he will be right amongst it. Positive Nev metioned last year that some of the owners are old Kal boys and want to try and win the Hannan's and after finishing second last year in what was a better field IMO, think Nev would have left no stone unturned to try and get him 100% for this and try and go one better and at those odds in this field i am all over it!

matador could be a sneaky chance imo.Escadaire, tarzi and fim maru would be the main players,SF might do it tough late, matador meets her 7 kilos better for a 3 length second over the course/distance.

Thanks Dr Golly I see what you meant as Tives pointed out. Sats weights could show scratch of some horses from previous. Think TIVES should put on couple of Kegs (beer) bring in the learners teach them without getting pithed himself. We learners will manage to do that.
