What was Steve Parnham doing on Slik Sam when he moved off the rails, letting the eventual winner through, only to then be hopelessly blocked himself. The horse didn't appear to have much to give as it turned out but an ordinary effort nonetheless.

He slaughters plenty but there was nothing wrong with that ride.

Copped that slight check at the 150 but horse wasn't going well enough to bust through the gap, that's why it got checked.

Pike sat 3 deep the trip punching the breeze and won. No excuses.

i agree with the above to be honest, horse wasnt going to win anyway, at the 150 looked like a gap closed in on him but horse wasnt going fast enough at that time to take it

have to agree with Para... the gap was there for him to take... horse didnt seem keen to take it.

Depends on which way you view the ride. At the 300m -250m could have pushed out to clear air but allowed the horse outside of it to push him in. The gap then wouldn't have been an issue.

To Falcon re Nicconis Boy.Just watched the replay again and the ride was average. Horse was travelling as well as Dolusky when they went together about the 270 m mark but hit a dead end just after. If if got to the outside about there would have finished in the money. Probably needs 2000 now and time to wind up. Good luck.

Yeah I feel for you Falc!
My boss is also a part owner in the Boy and he played the interview to me after the race with Steve and Neville.Steve said he sort of stuffed up and the early pace was muddling forcing him to check and Neville says he stuffed up and should of put him a 2000mtr race!
If Pikey was on he would of pushed out and I have no doubt he would of won!
That's the difference Falc….Pikey the master or you put on Steve who has ridden 2 winners in 108 races!
I would like to see SOD on mate as Nicconis Boy is a big lad and a specialist for 1st time on!
