West Australian Racing

PATRONIZE X LUCKY YOU FILLY
1-year old Chestnut Filly
Sire: PATRONIZE   Dam: LUCKY YOU.  Purchase price $65,000
Trainer's Name: ADAM DURRANT
VERY EXCITED TO OFFER SHARES IN THIS OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL.
EXCEPTIONALLY BALANCED FILLY WITH A VERY STRONG HINDQUARTER!!
GREAT WALK WITH A GOOD OVERSTEP WHO LOOKS TO BE AN EARLY RUNNING TYPE!!
BY SUNSPEED SIRE “PATRONIZE” THE SIRE OF MAGIC MILLIONS WINNER “ENCHANTED
DREAM” AND MULTIPLE STAKES WINNER “MIKKI TWO TOES”
THE DAM IS A HALF SISTER TO THE GROUP 1 WINNER “DESSERT
This is ice cream and jelly. You need Sahara DESERT SKY”  OUT OF A “CANNY LAD” MARE IN “LUCKY YOU”! THIS FILLY IS A HALF SISTER TO THE SMART “AQUAINTANCE” By our leading sire WAR CHANT and in 12 starts won a MOORA Maiden by a nose. It’s not smart
CAN’T WAIT TO RACE THIS FILLY WITH SOME BEAUTIFUL LADIES!!
CANNY LAD IS ONE OF THE BEST BROODMARE SIRES WE HAVE EVER SEEN!!
HE HAS PRODUCED 11 G1 WINNERS INCLUDING AUSTRALIAN CHAMPION SIRE REDOUTES CHOICE! Westspeed Platinum filly, who was one of the best types at the sales!! It’s a really exciting concept to bring WOMAN. Do
you mean women of racing together!!!
TO BE TRAINED BY THE STATES LEADING TRAINER ADAM DURRANT.
“Very excited to be training the ladies horse!! This filly handled the whole
sale process like a true professional!!!  I have had good success with the
Patronise stock!
“The last winner he trained by PATRONIZE was SILVER SPECK in 2013.  Hardly good success.  You put an 's' instead of a 'z' in Patronise.
ADAM DURRANT LEADING TRAINER
“When I saw this filly I knew I had to buy her, she is very well balanced and ATHLETIC!!
James Christie (Electra Bloodstock)

purchased.

Bought for $65K selling shares valued at $110K. I fully understand the horse needs insuring, breaking in and needs looking after for 6 months but $45K is a bit deep.

The kicker for me is fees set at $3750 a month racing or in the paddock   :-&  :-B

How bout the $11k War Chant that was syndicated for six times that. Or the $140k earning 3yo which has only just broken even ....

His mark up and setting of prices is the norm. IN fact he is very cheap at that rate.

A friend bought 1 share.......not 1%, but 1 share in a 1000 share horse. His month payments are set at $15/month...= 15,000/month......= $180k/year for training and upkeep.Gets a video of his horse every week its in worth and an update every week irrespective of what it is doing So Electra is cheap.

For al the crap taht small shareholders give you, i doubt whether 15k/month is enough for the psych bills to recover from it all.

To buy the 1 share was $200, the horse sold at auction for $85k. Country grade running horse only.....As a syndicator you only have to sell 30% of the horse to pay all the bills. And if you syndicate for under $250k you don't need to be licensed.........Except if your horse is registered with RWWA...cos they are so far behind the rest of the country/world

Isn't it ironic how the normally meek are flushed out when the cry of RORT echoes around the Auditorium.
Trigger just called to say he wants nothing to do with it.I said chill Trig no one is suggesting you are James Christie though i understand the confusion because of your facial hair.
Trig reckons its people like this that are the real reason fields have fallen away.
He reckons when a horse is field shy it sometimes helps to add blinkers and he reckons before going into a syndicate maybe blinkers for the humans.
I suggested dealing with these types i'd be adding pacifiers

    With grammar like that  =))

    1. What the f*#k is the deal with 50 women? Who gives a s*#t?
    2. Watch from the comfort of your home, without partaking.  Presume your name ain't in the racebook, so no free entry to see your horse race!
    3. Can't wait to race this horse with beautiful ladies, wtf??????

Good on him for having a go! He's taking all the risk so why shouldn't he get some financial return for that. The guys at Darby, Triple Crown, Star thoughroughbreds.... all do the same. The majority of his clientele would be first time owners wanting 1%. I don't think too many trainers would be giving you the time of day when you own that much. He's getting people into the game which is exactly what racing needs. As for the write up they're all a load of bull.

so the bloke looks to make a profit from his business. Isnt that what a business is all about? Dont know anyone in business that sets out to break even or lose money to race horses with us deadbeats for the love of it.

Can't work your gender out Bucks but i'm flat out handling 2 woman..oops..women so hows this dude gonna handle 50.Finding 50 woman..oops..women is a major feat in itself.
Paraletic seems your chance to invest some hard earned if your confident but at the end of the day someone who can't do simple maths is perhaps better to avoid, IMO

And if your into syndication you have to make a profit on the deal...as there is no guarantee you'll make profit on the horses.....If anything Electra/James is cutting corners....which from experience you have to do in WA as the average horse share owner in WA doesn't accept a $3k/month bill as normal.

Let alone $3750 when the horse is sitting in the paddock

Naahhhh , Got 1 with Darby and going through Electra's website would not touch them with a stick. Darby have costs but Electra well and truly over the top.

the $15,k a month one is the same price every month!!!!!!

As someone above said it is contributing to the demise of the industry and i agree with it......but then again who can afford the cost to have  3 or 4 runnign around with only one of them getting a cheque every now and then???

When multiple people who are actually IN the successful horses so far, tell you they 110% wouldn't get in another one ... Hmmmm

I'm not aware of one first timer fronting up for a second shot in any of these large syndicators!! Even though they get weekly updates, they don't actually get connected to the racing aspect...and after a year or two it is just another bill that they have to pay every month..

Impressive do it as good as anyone in this state. Hitting the mid range on service and keeping the costs affordable, whilst encouraging everyone to get to the races and enjoy it...

a fairly damning indictment on his business model .... anyways if he is happy the way things are going for himself , good luck

His costs are disclosed so anyone taking a share should at the very least understand what they are in for. His strike rate is reasonable enough and for most people who take small shares most likely are not out to make money but just have some fun in ownership that would be beyond the majority if they could only have large shares.

Having said that, I don't like the syndication model at all. There are far too many ways to slice up the pie and still not get a feed. I have never had anything to do with purchasing for or being a part of one myself and most likely never will. Its probably the reason why the majority of yearling sales anything decent from a sought after stallion goes for $100,000 or thereabouts. They have a cutoff it seems in purchasing, so if you unfortunately are bidding on something that a syndicator also wants, it will cost you North of $100k. If they buy something really cheap I think it is harder for them to interest people, maybe it just doesn't have that same sexy feel about it ??

I know Breeders love them, especially those ones that actually pay their bills. Unfortunately that doesn't always happen.
