He's sold a futue Perth cup winner before. I'm convinced horse needs a wet track. Another shower would be nice.

    I wonder who backed her? I certainly didn't (25 ew @ $21 doesn't do much. )

She's not looking too bad for a $600 buy :x

At least he's prepared to have an opinion before the race has jumped. If every member posted one opinion about a meeting I don't think the Sad State of Affairs thread would exist.

Rio your girl didnt loose to many admirers on yesterdays run , but did Pike er by not using her up a bit more early and crossing to the fence just a observation or question not being a smartass just wondering what your thoughts were

I'd never think that of the majority of the posters on here on these sort of issues are spinkster.

When he got her out so well i thought he had crossed to the fence and that would have forced Cognac to be restrained or to have pushed to get out and around her. But its hard to say he was far enough in front of her to keep coming in and not cause interference. So yeah it looks like pushing a bit and getting in front could have been  better option. But lots of if, buts and maybes go with that....and that is after the race!!!!!

She has twice shown a lot of gate speed, i think we will have a chat about whether we use that and take a risk at the end of the race from here on in, or if we try to educate her to sit and sprint at the end?????.....Young horse, still working her out.

I agree, when she got going down the straight she didn't back off, she didn't drop off and she didn't shirk the hard work. A lot of kudos there. We were ultra confident of a top 3 finish and were hoping for a win. We got beaten by the best 2yr old going around at the moment........Gotta be honest, I'm still luving our girl and still luving the buzz of a Saturday competitive horse. It's been a few years between drinks, and has reminded me why we keep going after "the" good one!!!

Mrs Rio and i are two very happy owners
    :D :D :x <:-P <:-P :-bd

As you say she is still learning the caper , and no shame being beat by Cognac who has definatly put it all together this prep 4 goes at the 1000m for 4 wins super impressive. And going to the races Saturday with a real live chance and as you say the buzz it gives you is a win in itself

Looks to me like there was not enough room for Willy to cross. Staples did well, you can see he really kicked Cognac up to hold out Pike.

yep camera angle makes the gap look bigger, and Staples was really pushing Cognac along. A lot of racing left in our girl and don't think we will be waiting too many runs to have her worked out and going one better.

so i can say i have posted and can now join the new comp!

how good is jackpot prince that it can come off that pace and win?

gatting very good too, but it looked like it had gone 6 rounds with its rider.
why would you fight and then go way back there?
    big ask.
    sections tell interesting tale
