not TAB sale related but this came out the day after MC day and I thought it was worthy of a read.  http://www.markmcgowan.com.au/news/perth-racing-masters-carnival-to-become-major-tourist-drawcard-and-create-jobs-1245

The devil will be in the detail of any conditions of sale.

If I was a harness racing industry participant I would be very worried about the outcome from a sale based on current turnover performance of that code.

It is little wonder that the TAB is under pressure at present given the uncertain environment that the government has created for it.

I know if I was working at the TAB in IT or management and received another reasonable offer I would not hesitate to move on given the lack of stability.

SIMPLE here, if a politician tells you he has a good deal it will be bound to fail but he will get his cut before the sale. I have the same respect for Colin Barnett as I do for my NUMBER 1 ENEMY (whoops that is Colin)

Shifty Barnett is in bed with prospective buyers of the TAB and is talking it down with all the genuine intellect a doddery **** artist can muster. Turnover falling, not a good look for government to be involved in gambling industry (what!!!) future competition a danger to viability blah blah blah.

This b grader couldn't run a chook raffle as the skyrocketing state deficit shows clearly and is trying to put out the bushfire with a garden hose.

Corporates are showing their true colours by axing winning punters accounts ad nauseum. The TAB is a rock solid  institution and anyone in the industry who advocates its sale deserves to have their motives closely examined.

Not surprising the TAB's results are slightly down on previous years with Management and Staff operating within the environment of the Government guillotine hovering.
