    Pretty sure he ran 3rd at his first start at a Ascot Wednesday midweek meeting...was a long price in a big field and ran 3rd. Was there and looking for a few roughies to back for a place but didn't invest...if only I knew!

    First Cox Plate felt sorry for him near the 800 metre mark...thought not travelling well and gone...may drop right out...wrong!!! The Fighting Tiger was a very apt name. Running down Sunline would be a bit like catching Usain Bolt after he's got a five metre head start on you. Very difficult to do.

    Hawkes camp still peeved that protest not upheld for Viscount. Would have been a travesty. Stewards definitely got that one right.

    I was there and Northerly was the 2nd leg of an all up at 13-1 @thefalcon . I was as confident as I've ever been. I thought he'd turn the heat up on the mare around 800m out and that's how it panned out.

    Another local horse that sometimes gets forgotten in great wins over East by WA horses is Plastered...his effort to win the VRC Derby was outstanding when ridden by Paul Harvey. Also won the AAMI Vase at Moonee Valley in the lead up to the Derby.
