    2 classic lines here.

    "Prominent tipster"

"Pollett asked stewards to consider a good record over his 36 year career
and also requested leniency due his current financial state."

    3. Making comments that were obscene, offensive and abusive on a social media channel-
    AR 175. The Principal Racing Authority (or the Stewards exercising powers delegated to them) may penalise;
(qq) Any person who in their opinion, is guilty of engaging in the publishing or posting on any social media platform or channel any material, content or comment that is obscene, offensive, defamatory, racist, threatening, harassing, discriminating or abusive to any other person or entity involved in the racing industry.

Um WTF? So, as a member of WAROA at the moment and thereby being a part of the racing industry, if I bag a ride by a jock on here then I can also be penalised? Who and who isnt bound by the rules of racing? Its funny the discrepancies in fines handed out. When I say funny, i dont mean haha

no, bomber, you can bag a jock, what is piece of dross did was to defame and mock injured jocks. he deserves a $100k fine and banning, with the whole fine going too the jockeys assn.
what he said is reprehensible, no matter how contrite he is, what he said was bloody vile.

The comments were obscene "does anyone think of Ray Silburn sitting in his wheelchair down the back of Goulburn" and the fact he has stated on a number of occasions "WE" meaning most people who punt, well I am afraid I do care having seen a number of bad falls over the years. Maybe he could walk up to Rod Kemp at the races this Saturday look him in the eye and say kempy I dont care what happened to you ?

The fact that some people do not take exception to Pollett"s comments and have empathy for his penalty is a sad indictment on the society that we live in today.

The reality is most punters aren't bothered one way or another. Those involved in the industry like myself obviously hold a very different view because we are personally involved.

This is why falc...Punters - who are there to punt - like all of us are horrified when something goes wrong. But the next day it is back to the punt. Those of us who are a bit closer to the industry - exactly as sandors said - carry the pain of loss or injury of riders, strappers, trainers, etc for a long time.
Pollett may have chosen some politically incorrect/crass/revolting words to express this, but in principle i agree with him as well...it's not how i feel, but i agree with Pollett, a lot of punters would.

    As Rodent said best.

Absolutely disgraceful thing to say, but he can say what he likes. RNSW have exactly ZERO authority to fine him.

Pollett is not only a punter but is also part of the Racing Media and the precedent was set when Bret Zerafa was disciplined over the Camilleri/Mounting Yard information.

I go through most of my days with people making statements I don't agree with, decisions I don't agree with or fights I don't want to be involved in.
The Australia I'd like to see would be people worrying about what's behind there fence. And people that worry about there own bussiness.
And people that are loyal to there friends word.

dog comment by someone who i usually think is very funny,

i think the negative publicity he is copping on twitter, etc will be equally detrimental to the company (Punters Show) as the fine to him.  His comments **** a lot of people off.
