One good thing to come of this by stalling for 3 years they have got the numbers down to 12 having a year off so could have been worse for the AFL they will be competitive at times providing they recruit some experienced players not all juniors.

I watched Tim Watson with Ling and Koch on telly last night.
I don't think Watson was in LA LA land was he?
I got the impression he was dirty on Hird and Essendon in general, and thought it never should have happened.
Maybe I was not paying enough attention?
Notwithstanding the fact that he would be feeling for his son, as any decent father would.

Personally as much as I have always hated Essendon(my big brother supports them!), I have always had high regard for Watson, especially after I heard he gave a house away to a young bloke when he built a new one at Coongulla.

As Gerard Whateley pointed out last year I think to James Hird on 360 despite his denials that they were declared innocent which they clearly weren't, the so called independent tribunal never got to the question whether or not they were administered thymosin.

Once you got it away from anywhere where the AFL could bring its considerable influence to bear this was always going to be the case, I don't see why so many people are so shocked.

The players association are still in dreamland and aren't doing their players and their future welfare any good by continuing to insist they be treated like naughty children, you need to learn the definition of personal responsibility boys.

The reaction from all the Olympic athletes says it all, how can a 15 year-old potential olympic cyclist know her personal responsibility better than older mature AFL players give me a break and as she pointed they get paid big bucks and she doesn't, yet she can adhere strictly to the rules and is acutely aware of her personal responsibility

Andrew Bogut summed up the entire debacle very succinctly in his tweet,

"Strongly against PED's so no gripe with suspensions.
Gripe is my two Siberian Huskies could have better handled this debacle ..."

Think that sort of says it all, it was and has been a total dogs breakfast from the outset.

Carey, I have no doubt that NOW, he's upset with Hird and Essendon.

He's dirty because he doesn't believe his son should lose the Brownlow and said so on SEN on Tuesday Morning. That's what he's feeling and concerned about for his son.

Not once has he previously come out and said that he was either concerned for his son's welfare, let alone that of the other 33 who copped injections. He was the one at the parent meetings called by Essendon, who they basically relied upon to allay their fears. If Timmy says it's O.K., then it will be O.K.

He, like every parent of the 34 players, abrogated their responsibility to their sons, once the shiiit hit the fan in 2012. They went along with the club, even after the damning Switkowski report. Anyone still remember that?

So, yes, it hurts him, and will hurt him even more if and probably when, Jobe has to hand back the medal.

It will stick in his craw for the rest of his life, that he allowed his very strong emotional attachment to the club, override what he has probably known in his heart of hearts, he should have done.

He, along with every parent, relative and friend of those 34 players, and the players themselves, better hope and pray that the injections did not contain any substances that may affect their long term future health.

Never, it was always going to be that once they it got out of the hands of the AFL surely that patently obvious to anyone capable of normal reasoning.
Pretty sure I said it would be completely different kettle of fish once WADA got involved on here many moons ago.
Why do you think the olympians all reacted in the same manner to WADA's successful appeal, do you they did that out of spite???
They know the rules and are forced to abide by them, everyone at Esoendon thought they were above those rules and untouchable, well guess what commonsense has prevailed and proven that there are no exceptions for so called AFL stars.
An entire club went out of their way to cheat the system blatantly and they got caught and the players grossly abdicated their personal responsibility in the matter.
The sooner the AFL, the clubs. player managers and the AFL players association stop treating adults like naughty children for every transgression no matter how minor or major the better off they will all be in the long run.

Only to be replaced by Lindsay Tanner falcon, yet another bloke who refuses to see the wood for the trees.Like every fkn politician, he double talked and skirted around the instigator of the problem.

As soon as he said that "it's a collective responsibility" and said that James Hird the prime instigator of this disaster would still be welcome back at the club, he lost me.

John Elliot created an unmitigated disaster for the team I follow Carlton, when he ignored the AFL salary cap rules and overpaid some of our star footballers. This lead to a million dollar fine and no first round draft picks for two years costing the club millions in lost revenue and success.

They took his name down from the John Elliot Stand and he was persona non-grata for a long time and to many of us still is.

Essendon's year, this year, is a write off. Not all the 12 players who are banned will come back next year, so the odds are that Essendon are staring down the barrel of a long period in the bottom half of the ladder.

The one thing that may help them, is that if they finish bottom this year, they will get the number one pick, although with 4 number one picks, Carlton still haven't got anywhere!

The man responsible, James Hird should be treated by the club and its supporters just like we treated Elliot.

Another thing. If Hird had one decent bone in his body, and Jobe Watson loses the Brownlow, then Hird should return his.

Yep have to agree the few times that I have actually bothered to throw out tips on here have been spot on, the cleaner can't possibly win the Railway, Bulldogs last year will makes the 8 and nearly make top four they were only about 5 or 6 bucks for the 8 at the time etc, etc.

You can continue to peddle whatever propaganda you like mate, I have zero respect for the likes of you and others of your ilk on here anyway, the people that matter know my abilities and surprise, surprise, they continue to use them whenever they're required.

All of the above are facts that, to me, will always cloud the judgement.

To those who seem to be overjoyed with the decision, congratulations.

History is dotted with numerous miscarriages of justice, based on the facts in the first part of my post this case will remain that way for me.

PS. For those who have joined the thread late I don`t support Essendon.
