Heard a Top H K trainer in Perth at the moment has put 1.5 mil up for Vega Magic, lot of money I think he could be potentially the best sprinter we have produced in a long time. If the choice was mine = Gone

1.5 is life changing money. I would sell.

Looks like a good race there on Saturday. Running and risking a loss could cost them massive dollars.
No risk option is SELL SELL SELL.

Had a discussion with a mate last night and we spoke about "will we ever own a good one?".... We then got into what we consider a "good one". My mate mentioned that he considers a "good one" when you can look at a tangiable possesion and say "i bought that because of my horse". Now that can be a house, a car, a boat etc. i hope 1.5m in this case gives the owners a lot of pleasure and they can buy that new house or pay off the mortgage or buy that fancy car. They got what me and my mate consider a "good one!" All the best if they proceed with the sale.

para, I think the potential buyer could afford any car they wanted, what mortgage? a new house? probably got a few, one in town, one on the beach and a chalet in the snow fields....are u talking of the present owners or the buyers?

    same comment for both parties....

Sellers mate. If you have 1.5 to spend on a horse i would think the term mortgage has no meaning.

a nice home breeding program going on..coming from a good early running local mare. third generation program, with 2 more full brothers/sisters to follow..i'd offer a lot less for the new colt

Good on em for having a go on saturday still. If it were me keep a 5% interest in it so you could say you had a horse going around in honkers :D

Just to put $1.5 million in perspective - Barakey won 832k and Scenic Blast won $2.1 million

Agree @notapunta - keep 5%-10% (with no say in his racing) and sell the rest, atleast you got an interest.

Very hard to win $1.5 million in horseracing!

The owner of this thread is a **** stirring retard at times...even worse than me, and puttign this crap up here is no good for anyone.
If he put up the real price offered you'd all be saying keep it..to bred one taht good you never want to let them go.
About 3rd foal, but have to go out so cant check the others for you..will do this arvo when i get back to talk more crap!!!!!

$1.5M is a pisstake surely. If that amount were accurate, it'd already be on the plane. No way in hades it'd be racing this week

you don't set any plans on people buying horses, lots of offers don't eventuate, if they truly want the horse it won't run Sat, if they are all **** and wind it will run That fact Caspar Fownes came down to loo at the horse means they r fair dinkum

Winner of two last starts in modest company at best. The suggested selling price may be correct but it is abnormally high. Hong Kong Vets are reportedly very hard to get past. So if it happens it would be a nice result for the sellers, but I understand that they are not poverty street, so why even contemplate a sale?

On another note, just how many WA horses selling into HK, have come close to earning their purchase price?

High level horses bred in WA were at one time maybe five years apart. The freakish around a decade. But I think those numbers might be on the slightly longer side now.  You would hope for the local Industry that Vega Magic might be the former, but I doubt he is the latter. I don't think Barakey was either. Unless someone can refresh my memory, Northerly was the last freak we produced.

An interesting discussion around the bar I'm sure.
