Just had a look at the prepost market for this race after the running of the Railway on Saturday. THere are 53 horses left in this race as at today.

THey are betting 103.7% in the first 5 horses !!!!! That leaves 48 horses running for them for 100% profit.....as an on-course bookmaker if we bet these sorts of prices we'd be laughed off the racecourse... it's just daylight robbery.... if only us on-course bookies didn't need to have a sports betting licence to bet prepost racing like our friends at RWWA do ...!.!.!.!.! But of course that would be allowing us to compete !

What's even more amazing is that some punters will step into these rock bottom odds pre-post.... And if that's not bad enough...it's an all in market...no refunds on scratchings right up until final field!

@velcrocandy Those 48 horses 'running' for them will only be doing just that until the final field is declared, then the top 5 chances will be considerably shorter and the bookies will be struggling to lay anything else. I seriously doubt they will attract any significant business pre post anyway. Black Heart Bart is the only one that seems overs to me right now, unless you think Blackwood or Arcadia Dream can turn the tables on Perfect Reflection, that is.

I'd be surprised if the winner came from outside those first 5 in the market. Ihtsahymn was $7 pre post before it won the KT, Moriarty was $7.50. I'm sure the percentages were equally appalling but I do know that the horses didn't start anywhere near those prices on raceday.

just had a flick through the 50+ horses and reckon it will fall away dramatically...all I hope is there is not too much rubbish left in to maybe impede the chances of the fancied horses.

Has been consistently owned by Delicacy when they've clashed. I can't see that changing. I'm guessing Hall gets it as it's a Pike cast off?

Delicacy and Neverland have raced each other three times. Neverland beat it once. and Delicacy beat it the next two times, Bob spelled Neverland after those two runs as something was amiss.

I definitely would not say it was owned. watch the Challenge Stakes on the 14/2/15. Delicacy had absolutely everything go its way that day and Neverland got over the top of her. After getting smashed 5 wide on the turn.

Next Saturday will be Judgement day.

If Neverland was up to WFA class it would have been running in those races instead of beating up on restricted class horses.

Not sure about that. I think Neverland has targeted the right races thus far, and if the KT is the right race they'll go there. Look at a horse like Silverstream, it had been running around in 72+ or less races and goes to WFA GP1 and I thought performed at the level admirably. Arguably runs second if settles a little closer in the run, cracking finish. Its more about timing, and I think Neverland is right in it if they head that way.

WHY ?????

As an owner. If you had the likes of Real Love, Delicacy, Battle Hero in your stable. Why race them in the same race, for the same prize money. If you have a horse that can go through the classes,and BEAT UP opposition and still get to a group 1, picking up easy prize money on the way.

I"m pretty sure that is the way you would go.

That's not really my point and in the Challenge Stakes Neverland was receiving 3kg from Delicacy over 1500m. Do you want me to remind you what happened when they stepped up to 1800m next start? Notwithstanding the poor decision by Pike to go back early, Delicacy was on another planet that day and it was a sign of things to come as she went on to claim the Natasha Stakes and two Oaks and two derbies in her next five starts. There is no way in the world I could back Neverland to turn the tables in the KT and even if she does it doesn't mean she will win the race.

No need to remind me about that run,or Pikes Shiit house ride, or what Delicacy went on to do. That is now history.

I never stated that she would win. I just said I backed Neverland @ $21. which I think is great value for an up and coming horse BEATING UP on restricted class horses.

But some one laughed at me

I have backed Man Booker to win the Kingston Town @$151Ew,$126Ew,$51Ew 3yo's have a terrific record in this race.this time we need a favourable barrier please.
I think it will be a field of 12-14 and when you look at the possible runners there is no speed at all outside of Messene with Man Booker racing very handy

So if the first 5 in betting start considerably shorter than they are now in a final field market and you are betting into that market, please please please bet with us @ PUNTA !!!!!!!!!

I couldn't tell you what % they bet last year on race day but it was a two horse race. Disposition was backed off the map and Moriarty was easy in the market because of its inside draw. I don't care if the % was 120, 130, 140 or 150. I had an all up worth $3.5k if Disposition had held on. I only regret not taking a saver on moriarty but then I didn't count on Tommy Berry being so soft and letting Douglas Whyte out of that pocket
