    Gai has been crying poor forever. If trainers can earn a wage over here @ $65 a day, I'm not sure how she can't at her rates. She's never spent a cent on infrastructure, she won't spend anything on gear, and she employs mainly Indian visa kids. She has had everything handed to her.

    Maybe Mrs Waterhouse isn't making any money because Mr Waller and Mr O'Shea are winning all the races. Waller has 61 NSW wins so far this season (45 metro) for $5 million plus ....Mrs Waterhouse has 17 wins (11 metro) for about $1.7 million from goodness knows how many in work. I think the "poor old us" syndrome is a family tradition.

    Is it a ridiculous idea to suggest 2yo and 3yo racing with set weights, no penalties and just let us have a decent winning horse that wins every time it comes to the races ? I wonder if there would be any support for non handicapped racing, and just let the best win ?

    Back to my bunker for the expected bombardment.

    Yesterday the Magic Millions Horses in Training Sale was held on the Gold Coast with just one Lot coming to WA. Last week Inglis also held their similar sale with just the one Lot coming to WA.

    Whilst both sales had positive numbers, there were reasonably priced horses to be purchased, and I think it is a worrying sign that our Trainers don't seemingly have orders to fill.

    Tivers you have to win the race to get Westspeed. You can't win a lot of races in Perth at the moment with local stock. At best it is about 3 from 8 races. The fat end of town is making it very hard to compete, and it is only going to get tougher. I'm talking Saturday's, forget Wednesday warriors.

    Bollocks
    We win a race on average every 5th start (ie 20% of starters are winners).
    50% of starters run first 3.
    With 100% locally bred stock.

    Bob's are also 100% locally bred (WestSpeed eligible)

    Perhaps others just aren't doing it right ?

    I just processed a stakes receipt where 60% of the total amount was WestSpeed.

    Also the 3 from 8 on Saturday was the second lowest going back for some time.
    Not "at the best".
    And that doesn't translate directly to WestSpeed Eligible anyway.

    Yes 3 win horses are hard to come by...you either get (sorry me, not you specifically!!!)no wins, or 3 in a hurry and spend the next year or two trying to get your ratings back to a manageable level.

    Have they ever had trainer/owner meetings to explain the adjustments they are making to the handicapping and ratings system so we can plan campaigns 3-6 months ahead?? Or do they just spring these rules on us without explanation??? I've not been up to speed on RWWA meetings for a while
