I thought He Or She was headed for the Caulfield Cup ?

So a raider or one of the locals ?
  • tonytony    2,436 posts
If they started 50 He or She might have had a chance at getting a start,

Has a rating of 90 and there is only one starter with a rating of less than 100 and he (Magnapal) is only there because he won a ballot exempt race

And to think He Or She could be running in a false G1 like the Railway! What a disgrace! Delicacy, Disposition, He Or She all won over in the East. Two time champ Luckygray, Fuchsia Bandana, Black Heart Bart, Real Love. I mean what a weak line up.  =))

notes to take note of the Cup this weekend...

    • It's one of the strongest Caulfield Cups we've seen in a long time.
    • If I could own one horse today to try and win the Melbourne Cup it would be Who Shot Thebarman.
    • Complacent is a much better horse than Mongolian Khan and should be favourite if he gets a start
    • I can't see how anyone can come into Mongolian Khan at $4.60. The work experience kid must have put that price up.
    • I thought that Criterion win was a bit smelly.
    • I can't come at this Japanese horse Fame Game at all for the Caulfield Cup
    • Royal Descent is a miler not a 2400m horse
    • Gust Of Wind is just slow and should be $170 not $17
    • Hokko Brave is an interesting runner but has had issues
    • Our Ivanhowe's German form is phenomenal but here in Australia his action is very different
    • Protectionist has been aimed for one race and that is the Melbourne Cup
    • Highland Reel is a 2 to 3 length better horse than Adelaide but I'd like $10 to back him
    • Preferment has improved 10 lengths but not sure he's a Cox Plate horse
    • Kermadec is a bit of a distance doubt, just didn't show the accelration of a horse that is charging through the line at 2000m
    • This is a different track and class for Winx and I couldnt have her at $20 let alone $7
    • I'm not convinced Press Statement will get a strong 2040m and I'm not prepared to take $11 to find out
    • Not sure Fawkner is going any good
    • Galio Chop is no hope in a Cox Plate, he's not good enough

Such a c0ck tease this horse, but as soon as I don't back it, it will win!

  • hashhash    7,495 posts

probably not a c#ck tease more so just ticking over nicely going about it's business leading into the big race/s as i'm sure there are a few of them in that category...

I said a long time ago once David Hayes got settled in to his new training establishment partnership then he'd start reaping the rewards and getting results as he did on Wednesday (trained 3 of the last 4 winners on the card)

I'm tipping a big spring carnival for him and the team this year

hahaha I only lay favourites mate sorry

my post of points were not my notes but need to be respected, there's a few I agree with and some I don't... I agree Preferment has improved lengths this campaign and is the best hope of the locals for the Melb Cup imo but I do not agree re the Winx statement, she's the real deal and can measure up in a Cox Plate and if there's genuine pace and she's not too far off them she can win it

if the times measure up and doesn't leave his run to late Fame Games win over 2500m is about the same time as the others over 2400m

I agree that Winx wont be winning the cup at $20 or $7...

I backed Fame Game in late August at $15 and I've found no reason to regret that decision.

This may change at 5.45pm EST however.

90% sure he'll be running , although they have said the only concern is may find the trip a bit short , if ridden like the best horse in the race wins easily but not sure it's the main goal and may not want a weight penalty ? so i'm playing cautious and just the drum
  • hashhash    7,495 posts

how do you guys think Fame Game will be ridden from gate 1 as connections or jockey haven't stated anything yet

it's the Cox Plate that's being referred to for WInx   ;) ;)  like what I did there   :P
  • G-MacG-Mac    1,677 posts

I hear what you're saying Lame. But I can't see connections knocking back $1.7m to avoid a weight penalty. If he copped 1kg for winning he would then carry 58kg which he's shoown he has no issues with. His run in the Tenno Sho was sensational carrying 58.

Going with a place all up tomorrow:

    R6. Fenway

    R8. Jessy Belle

    R9. Fame Game

    R10. Pittsburgh Flyer

At the moment, I'm leaning towards Set Square and Fame Game, but that may change tomorrow!
