On the plus side, at least Carlton can't lose this weekend!

Bombers don't rate Nic Nat, going in without a ruckman!

Melbourne bet of the round! Couldn't believe the price they put up.

Melb haven't beaten the saints since 2006 and haven't beaten them at the dome since 2002. Plus they have a terrible record there.

Obviously the teams are vastly different to the past and I'm not declaring StKilda but there is no way I'd be backing the dees.

Agree. Bet of the year is West coast 39.5+ at 2.25.

    I don't care it's not relevant.

That seems a fairly relevant stat.

If it contradicts Shovhog's opinion (I mean fact) it is irrelevant...

Agree look what he did when Geelongs ruckman went down a few weeks ago he ran amok same will happen today strange move but its Hird and he is the  man just ask him no one loves Hird more than Hird

Michael Voss has done an outstanding job at Port as their midfield coach. He has turned around one of the best performing midfields in the AFL into a confused and disorganised failure at clearances. And Hinckley alluded to such at his press conference. Geelong exposed them with its simplicity and precise execution. Admire Geelong as a club that refuses to lie down ...78% winning record since about 2007.

Port are shot, not sure how they performed at the level they did last year but they're not the same team

Definitely shot if they lose next week :>

Melbourne's form at etihad was decent last year. Yes they lost all 4 games but they were really competitive.

The reason I don't rate the stat is you can forget anything prior to last season because of how bad they were. They are a much improved side and I think the way they structure up NOW..will trouble stkilda's run and gun style.

You have to look beyond a basic stat and look at reasons behind the stats. Anyone can reel off a few stats but knowing the game styles and change of structure is a fair bit more important.

    Occy you're a smart man and that's why I like/love you.

Essendon are really bad. Adam Simpson has got all the players on board with his press. Credit where credit is due.

Smart decision to play no ruck against nic nat......

    Freo Doggies and North

Freo looked flat as a tack again yesterday - if not a bit of Fyfe forward magic they could have lost that game. Forward looks crap, Pav as soon as the ball hits the deck, not in the game.

Bombers just don't look like they have their headspace right, not even in the contest yesterday. Had to laugh at Nic Nat after game interview, "they were offended Bombers did not select a Ruckmen"  WTF maybe because he does not do much damage around the ground, and all you need to do is compete in the ruck and make him accountable around the ground. In Bombers case made no difference because they are so bad.

Still not sure about North had some chances in last quarter (basic misses by Waite Higgins) to really put it to the Swans but failed to do so.

Bastinac knocked back 800k a few years ago. He's not the worst player but he and ziebell were expected to be elite by now and they will both never reach those heights. North played well last night though and we're just beaten by a great side.

Anybody who is under any illusions that dangerfield won't be at Geelong next year just needed to watch Paul Connors on the footy show.

Dangerfield and selwood in the same team .... If I was a cats man I would be pretty happy.

You are kidding aren't you, GWS beat themselves earlier in the game and the Pies were good enough to dine out on their gifts, the game was over when they lost Davis and then Patfull and Mumford was injured, h'mm remind me when did cloak start kicking all his goals again? It just happened to coincide with GWS having no recognised key defenders left, looking forward to round 16 when the eagles play the pies at etihad as long as the eagles turn up reasonably healthy they will have nothing to fear and will have a really nice bet on the eagles in that game which they'll win comfortably. Enjoy while it lasts after watching them today am more convinced than ever that you're no hope of playing a part in anything serious.
