    Thanks Andrew your spot on.

Do you want my opinion on last year's winterbottom ?

It was an anomaly pure and simple. Some races you just can't explain and that was one of them. Angelic and Moment ran well below par at the end of campaigns where they had already peaked.

Magnifisio is a horse we would all love to own and it certainly was worth a crack.

That's true , be very wary of eastern states horses that have peaked before they get here. The Emirates into the Railway is another race whereby the eastern states horses have already had their grand final. Perth horses on their 'home ground' at carnival time will always take some stacking.

Just had a call, and it followed something that didn't ring true today in a post race interview, but has there been a change of yards ?

Well it seems that you are asking a rhetorical question Damo.
Jimmy's response in the interview after New Time's win was certainly one that begs a question or two thats for sure,

So should we start calling you damo bensley? OR will you just post your news in secret without the crappola.

I was sort of hoping that she would be retired to Stud.

JT losing 2 Winterbottom winners in a week, thats probably not ideal. I hope the mare comes back more powerful than ever :-bd

It would be a hard pill to swallow for JT I do feel for him likewise couldn't see that he had done much wrong from the outside but I'm sure there is a good reason.

yep...so many trainers seem to forget who owns the horse and who pays the bills......great to see owners willing to move, even though in this instance the owner doesn't appear to have an option

I have to admire your honesty. It's a rare thing in racing
I'm led to believe a pre trainer of 2 3 y/os that Jimmy had the previous prep fibbed to Jimmy about the whereabouts of the horses. JT asked if they were ready to come back to the stables and he said they were at a certain trainers stables, to say JT was shocked is an understatement, he got hot about it as they both showed alot of promise.(The Grey one in particular). As it turned out the horses were not at the stables JT was 1st told but at V Sigleys. Didn't make JT any calmer about the fibs he had been told. Think he asked the owner were he would like him to send Magnifisio.  Much the same scenario he had with the cerise and white, JT doesn't pre train for other trainers. Probably the pre trainer should have handled it a bit better, and made no comment.
    Only my opinion

Keep an eye on the grey,it's by Haradasun

JT can be proud on how far he has taken the mare, placed her beautifully and reaped the rewards.
the new trainer has her in her twilight, lets see what he can do.
as you say PB, "that's racing".

A pool of horses they were with Vaughn, when he wasn't ready Jim took. When Jim wasn't ready Vaughn snapped them back. That's what happens when you have a pool of horses. He who is ready gets.

Different when the trainer has one for you, his or hers for life. Unless they sack it

Christ Vaughn would have sacked me years ago, how many have I taken away from him.

It's all about numbers & finance. If Barakey & Maggie were still going those two horses would still be at mine trying to kill themselves.
I am not knocking Jim I have the greatest respect & cannot thank him enough for what he has achieved for me.

I have lost too many horses waiting for trainers to take. I make 1 phone call if the trainer hesitates then I make another call. Don't need to make anymore

Glad to tell you she was vetted today, all good no tendon damage. Needs a good 3 months in the paddock & should return OK. I will try to send a picture now & after.
