Got to say it was very sad to watch the last episode of RR really enjoyed it I ef the years great info good banter

Tragic really for the the Industry the loss of TVN

I See sky picked up Brent Zerafa an Caroline Searcy for there team

I think Richie Calendar may bob up on the new seven network racing channel if it gets up

TVN was so superior to the sky arse clowns its going to take a bit of used to not having racing review early am Sunday's

Sevens coverage definitely needs some one like Richie Callendar to inject some enthusiasm into that coverage Simon Marshall and his mate would send anyone to sleep a cross to Richie at the track would liven things up I know he is not everyones cup of tea but at least he enjoys racing and punting.

Agree mate an a champion for what he does for four tracks for kids an other charity's he's not a bad judge either an not afraid to give anyone a spray who does the wrong thing for racing

Bruce Clark I just hope he disappears for ever of TV hope Mark Shean replaces D Mac as rumoured hete in the west

I cannot stand Caroline Searcy, she does my head in like no other... Im not a fan of Shean as a caller either.

Wow ok no better student of breeding on TV than Caroline Searcy very good knowledge

she may have the knowledge but still cant stand her. Wasn't she involved in the whole shares in horses for promotion on TVN fiasco? The same one that BC was involved in?

as for breeding, anyone can gush over a yearling by Fastnet Rock out of a multiple stakes winning mare as she does every time I see her on air. I mean its a no brainer.

Can she pick one from a $5,000 a serve stallion out of an untried mare that turns out to be a decent Saturday galloper? That's is where the real test of skill is.

I reckon she misses the audience by a country mile, not many people out there can spend $500,000 on a yearling which is what they seem to promote non stop. I suppose its the big breeders that pay the bills.

    Yes, Paraletic,

Searcey was involved with the horse share scam along with Clarke and Dean (I have a pen soldered on to my right hand) Pettit.

Caroline has a great knowledge when it comes to breeding, but 99.5% of punters didn't give a stuff when she gushed about the breeding of a horse long after the cameraman in the mounting yard had gone onto the next horse. She was told, but couldn't help herself, so got the flick from the coverage.

Sky have done themselves no favours hiring her. Brent Zarafa is O.K., but any opinions that he was able to express reasonably freely on TVN, will be censored on Tabcorp owned Sky.

Mark Shean is by far the best race-caller in Oz. No one reads a race better than him, and watching a few races yesterday, imagining that I was listening to the callers on radio rather than watching, they would not tell punters if a horse was pulling or over racing, or being hard ridden a mile from home, nothing that would give a listener the same "view" of a race that a viewer has.

Shean does all that and more and when he declares a horse is going to win 200 out from home, he's right 99.9% of the time. The same with photos.

Like many of you, I too will miss the TVN coverage, but am getting used to watching SKY with the sound off until they actually race. That Dave Stanley and the fictitious bets, which sees, as he calls it, "the smart money" taking unders all the time but having 20 and 30 thousand dollar bets on, is enough to make me have a bucket very close to my chair.

I don't know anyone at Tabcorp anymore, or anyone at Sky like I knew some of the blokes at TVN, but if someone does, then have a word in their ears.

They are deliberately and maliciously engaging in deceptive and misleading conduct which then leads to punters who think Stanleys words are Gospel, backing the aforementioned horses.

It's disgusting, and demeaning for a publicly listed Company to engage in such a practice.

    thank BL,

Ever time they say money is coming for this and that, I put a line straight thru it. And I would say 95% of the time I have been right to do so.

With the loss of TVN, it seems I now have Sky Racing World?

    Fair enough

Sky racing is crop compared to TVN no matter how you slice n dice it

TVN had some great characters bringing theatre to the coverage is there any more boring anchor than Richard freedman on sky with his sneering pathetic comments ??

The other shows like get on an the docos were great on TVN

SKY has always been inferior unfortunately now there is no alternative for vision
