Let me just say I didn't have a bet at Albany.

American Ceasar vs Tee Pee Cat

Somebody who knows something about the basic fundamentals of racing please explain to me how this was dismissed ??

I'm pretty keen on calling the stewards out on this one.

    I backed AC and thought I'd done my dough was pleasantly surprised it was dismissed but definitely should have been upheld

    Stewards relationships with jockeys and trainers ?
    I need something to go on here because I think the bloke who made this decision is at the very least stupid. This wasn't even close it should have been upheld within 10 minutes.

    Here we go again those opinion things like everyones got one. I backed Tee Pee Cat and was never confident of getting the nod after seeing the head on. My reason AC drifted out, but never bored out and the minor contact - too close to the post, and finally did the rider every have to stop riding at any stage. Thought TPC had its chance to win it.

    You would. Let's be honest your an apologist for anything to do with wa racing. We know which camp your in.

    So your either providing a bit of spin or you have absolutely no idea how to read a race.

    Apologist ?, That comment is laughable, how much research did you do you do to get to that summation. Talking through your kick I'm thinking, and i am in no ones camp, especially yours  :O

    I was talking through my kick. I was petrified it would be upheld. It looked like Tee Pee Cat was going to go past the winner until it got bumped. I would have upheld it but I don't think it's a howler. In hindsight, I'd say it should have been a 70/30 decision in favour of upheld.
     Also, if there is going to be a "mistake" made, I prefer to see "dismissed" when erring. The ones that get upheld that shouldn't be are the real howlers. Trading Day losing that race to Cool Trade and the infamous Railway taken from He's Remarkable are 2 mistakes that are intolerable.

    I'm not going to go into the merits of the Railway protest but Pike's ride on Elite Belle last Saturday-where he committed to the rail early- shows what a gamble it was. Fuchsia Bandana gave a kick, and that allowed Elite Belle to go through but it could have come unstuck had no gap appeared. Pike probably reasoned that with The Cleaner pouring on the pace, gaps would appear.Contrast that with the 2011 Railway: Rightly or wrongly, McEvoy pushed off the rail on He's Remarkable because the horse in front of him was going nowhere. He rides to the rules and he is out of contention.

    TRK you have made an assumption based on nothing but your own gut instinct. Pike knew he couldn't win unless he got lucky so he stayed patient.

    No reply needed just stick to this Albany protest cheers

    @Shovhog Then why did they want to draw wide if they intended to stick to the rail anyway? It was a gamble, it paid off. I'm just saying the hysteria around the railway protest is brought up everytime there is a contentious protest decision. The Trading Day-Cool Trade was an unequivocal howler but I've seen some just as bad over here in the east.

    Why do you need an explanation from someone else?Can we hear your reasons as to why it should have been upheld?

    The interference was significant and if you have watched the head on and don't agree then I'm not sure what I can do for you. Stewards need to explain why they didn't uphold the protest. It was a basic protest that should have been upheld. There isn't any grey area at all TPC had the momentum and let's face it if it wasn't for the bob would have won anyway.

    I saw the head on once and obviously my interpretation of 'significant' interference is different to yours. I also don't think it was a clear cut protest at all. I suppose we are all entitled to our opinions at the end of the day.
