Grand Final Sydney vs Hawthorn

Sydney looked the better team on the weekend, but had much weaker opposition no doubt. Sydney have been backed in strongly to $1.65 in most places and will go in the faves with four big talls to combat (with Goodes drifting forward as he did Friday night many times).

Who are you tipping and why?

Too strong all over the ground, and not carrying the injuries

jordan lewis in some doubt aswell, but i reckon he'll get up. rioli coming back after a while out aswell has to be a risk. Ive backed Sydney at $1.75 just to have an interest... but I think there might be more BBQ'ing and drinking going on than watching.

Best two teams are there, amazing Hawks have in there last 4 Prelims biggest margin 10 pts (loss, Chance Bateman cost them that one) and then 3 wins under a goal.

    Strange with Cyril

Plenty of bench time for Cyril so far today. About 15 seconds of inspiration. Wouldn't be nervous yet if I was supersub Simpkin

It was an even contest when they last met in r18 with the hawks getting up by 10 points. If the hawks can contain buddy they will win. Lake didn't play last time and he will keep tippet quiet. I'm guessing the swans by about a goal.

Sydney for me, the way they link up and move the ball is very impressive.

Swans go in the faves and rightly so. But don't write of or underestimate the hawks. Clarkson a few tricks up his sleeve still. Lewis should play and rioli got through unscathed in vfl. Mcevoy a big chance to come in also. Will be a tight tussle and a could go either way.

    What Poo's & Wee's  :P

Big call, Rioli & McEvoy back, and Sewell misses again, wonder if he goes somewhere else next year.

Back to back premiers what a champion team. There was a lot of knockers and no one tipped the hawks but we showed everyone with brutal , clinical, devastating football that we are the mighty fighting hawks. Tough season over come injuries and all obstacles and still got there well deserved and showed a champion team will over come a AFL sponsored so called team of champions. Not 1 non per former today, the best game they have played clarko you are a genius. WE ARE A HAPPY TEAM AT HAWTHORN .

Yep, no one could have predicted a flogging, but Swans were false favourites, especially at the MCG.
Have a look at who they were playing. Hawks had clearly the toughest run home.

Deepest thoughts with Tom Waterhouse.com today.
Laying the Hawks at $4 like that - hope theyre all ok...

Laying the hawks at what a max of $30 bet? I love the fine print on these supposedly big promotions.

I hear the sporting bookies in Melbourne have hired mayne nickless vans all year and are now calling for brochures on aston martins and their wives have sent diamond merchants into a frenzy.

Why aren't you telling us this 4 days ago, so we could back the Hawks att odds :((

Hawthorn were magnificent, Swans mid field was smashed, some players were woeful, the Backs under constant pressure, not enough ball for the forwards, all due to Hawks pressure, who then used the ball so much better going back the other way.

Hodge for many years, the Hawks were critiqued for picking him ahead of Ball and Judd, but he has deninately earned his No 1 pick. That trio have given outstanding careers for there teams, no need to have arguments who is better, all great.

Glad the Dockers didnt have to cop that flogging in a Grand Final might have dodged a bullet with the early exit.
