J Whiting gets 13 days suspension.
Reason given for the rather light suspension:
His relatively good record in that he had been suspended in May 2014 and prior to then it had been 2012 sometime.
SORRY LADS BUT THATS NOT A GOOD DETERRENT----- HE LITERALLY JUST CAME BACK FROM SUSPENSION!!!!!
LAST MONTH!!!!
but thankfully there are exceptions to the masses.......or i wouldn't be able to get my horses trained!!!!
;)
I respect your opinion Mailman and I will admit that I didn't bet on the horse so it's a lot easier for me to be making a comment like this, but I still think you are being very harsh on Renee Forrest.
Renee knows the Horse better than anyone, as 3 of the horses 4 wins, have been with her in the saddle. And it's always a risk when you put a new Jockey on board when the horse is having it's first start in the City.
Lucciola, ran the final 600m 35.12, which was the 2nd fastest sectional of the race. Yet that was actually more than half a second slower than J.A.F's sectional which was just a shade over 34.50.
Yes indeed, the Horse did get left flat footed when the pace quickened, but I still think the horse ran a much better race than you are giving the jockey Credit for.
JUST A FALCON (Renee Forrest) – When questioned in relation to the gelding losing contact with the remainder of the field from the 800m, rider advised that the gelding was left flat footed when the pace quickened from approaching the 800m necessitating her to ride it vigorously to make up the lost ground. She further explained that the gelding had been able to make ground when improving along the rail in the straight. When asked to explain why she had not ridden the gelding along earlier to make ground, rider explained that she was conscious that putting pressure on her mount earlier than she did would have impacted its ability to finish the race off and this was consistent with its general racing pattern. Trainer Mr R. O’Brien agreed with the remarks of the rider and advised that the gelding was racing today off a six day break between starts and it was now his intention to race the gelding again in a fortnight over a similar distance in the metropolitan area.

Shes a very game horse who with luck in running would have won a few more
Shes the star of WA right now along with Rebel King

Would love to see Carey come back out of retirement and let me know how good he thinks he is

Rebel King is an interesting horse. A lot rides on his back, mostly the future success of his sire who is at the moment struggling. He is running around at a time when none of the quality 2yo's are racing, and he faces those horses returning and those horses that have taken a bit of time to mature and will debut as 3yo's. So whilst it is good to see him dominant over these last two months, it's only a 2yo Winter in Perth, nothing more.
