Upholding that protest was an absolute disgrace. I didn't bet on the meeting. The reason I have for declaring it a joke is that in my 40 years of following racing, this result isn't consistent with the vast majority of protest decisions I've seen handed down.
In WA anything goes. Can you believe the winner of this race lost on protest? The thing in the pink in the centre whose protest was upheld (3rd v 1st) was level pegging with the thing on the rail all the way from the 400m and it was 50/50 whether it was going to get past the thing on the rail before it was severely checked. The thing is, the winner beat the thing on the rail by 1.75L running away!

Whether you agree with this protest decision or those gone by, what is clear is that the stewards have the balls to uphold a protest. -  I've been critical of the stewards for lacking the balls to suspend people in the past but I personally think they deserve commendation for their front-foot approach in regards to protests.
I'm not saying I necessarily agree with all of the protest hearing outcomes but I think that their willingness to reverse a result can only help to curb riders pushing the boundaries at all costs.

Bobby Davis _ it appears that you are connected to the Stewards - no where can I find where you are critical of the stewards - many of your postings are very much on their side of this type of matters.

Was the information that Crown Lawyer had been gelded relayed on the website before the meeting started? I must have missed it, because I definitely would have been on if so. I also hadn't realised Festive Excess was a gelding also.

Its normally the first thing I check for, and I didnt see it. I must be going blind

Or am I reading it wrong? Is the website merely indicating that its a gelding, and the racebook has it as a colt?

Really though, how hard is it. You can only make judgements on the information provided...and if thats wrong welI dont know then

I doubt that anyone who understands the basic fundamentals of racing believes that should have been upheld. It was an inept decision.

It was/is on CRIS H-Bomber. Not sure when it went up but it was before racing commenced.

Actually, I see what you mean. On CRIS it says Crown Lawyer (and Festive Excess) IS a gelding rather than that they have been gelded. I assumed, rightly or wrongly, that this meant they had been gelded since last starting, but the way that they present the information is rather ambiguous.

Seems to me Trojanhorse that you've spent too much time in a sauna and you may have Craft Memory. Maybe you should refer to some threads titled "Reprimands" and "whip rule and protest".
I have nil connection to any stewards or racing officials whatsoever.
