a sneaky each way today on Mr Vadim. I had a dream last night about a 100-1 pop winning. My dreams could probably tip better than me at the moment so i will stick with it. Plus i have no interest in todays card.

Anyone give When We Were Kings a hope ?

well bad luck Damo, i am a fan of this one and had a decent bet on it at good odds thinking i was a genius. I know the horse can run but does have a few voices in his head at times..

Haven't had that nasty taste in my mouth after the races since lucky grey first won the Railway on protest. Can any one really say if that interference hadn't occurred the fav gets past the other horse, I don't think so.

Crowd today exceeded that of the Roma Cup Day. Key personnel laid blame for poor attendances at the feet of the recently departed marketing manager. More days like this are planned for the future.

If only they had read PTT over the last three years. Of course I know they have, but it takes them a long time to adopt ideas and put them into practice.

STEWARD'S REPORT-   In upholding this objection Stewards were of the opinion that the shift by TRADING DAY at the 300m resulted in contact to COOL TRADE which was then bumped outwards with TRADING DAY
continuing to shift ground and dictate the racing line of COOL TRADE causing that filly to be
forced wide on the track. Stewards believed that this interference was greater than the margin of
a long neck and therefore upheld the objection.

Exactly as I saw it, the bump wasn't much but Dittman kept getting wider and wider and never stopped  to straighten his ride, stopping Cool Trade from running in a straight line. Was interference for sure add the short margin made it a monty to be upheld. Nice protest Paddy!!

Oh here we go again.....never take the grey's name in vain. Luckygray was taking ground off He's Remarkable whereas Trading Day was holding Cool Trade [-X

on http://www.perthracing.com.au/  you can watch the final 600m for free on the home page on the right. All you need to see the protest decision was the right one.

I doubt very much those key personnel, where board members..I'd find it hard to believe that all that could be organised and booked within 3 weeks...However it came about it appears as though it was a good crowd..

Lets never forget that every staff member of that club is accountable to the board...freedom of activity is something staff are not overly encouraged to do

Now to hope they can organise child free days

Rio it was a Committee member, but the conversation was not with me.

On another note, I saw several cameras in use today, including a long lens guy who had two cameras on him. He was wearing a Giesel Park Stud cap so that may have been a clue, but can someone tell me if the rules have been relaxed ?

I think Handebrakeharry is organising the Homecoming Queen parade with floats dedicated to Ted and his soon to be retirement and celebration of his time in office extravaganza  for later this year.

His would be replacements were out pressing the flesh this afternoon in the time honored practise of ass kissing ahead of electoral days of reckoning.

    LOL

I was on fiddlers elbow so the protest had no bearing on my bet but that protest result was farcical. Sometimes you really do have to wonder...

Talked myself out of elite belle for kalahaar. In saying that kalahaar wins with more luck and a better ride. Take the good with the bad

Only chance Kalahaar had of winning that race was in the stewards' room, because all bets are off in those circumstances :-\" [-O<

Pathetic how the Eastern States journos in the same segment can be so fkn parochial :-q
Into the Palace goes a kid having his 2nd ride in a race and mention was made of how he straightened his mount up when it started to shift.
Into the Kennel goes Perth for taking a win of a local (Eastern seaboard) apprentice - not a whisper about the fact that at no stage did he stop riding to try and straighten his mount.
Had he stopped riding to straighten his mount - as he should have - and still won (doubtful) - protest would not have been upheld.
Maybe Carbery should have held his ground and not allowed himself to be pushed 5 or 6 wide down the full length of the straight - in the bumping duel that would have ensued I don't think the 3rd horse would have got them and he probably wins anyway IMHO

So we seem to be looking at two scenarios
    1. The racing press in the east have a secret vendetta against WA stewards,,,,!!!!
    2. Or the people in charge of this important part of racing in WA fail to grasp how
    The rules governing protest apply,,,,

    Hmmm thinking, thinking,,,

    Hmmm thinking, thinking,,,

Apprentice L. Dittman was reprimanded for careless riding under ARR.137(a) for allowing his
mount to shift outwards and make contact with COOL TRADE and for not correcting it thereafter which is his obligation under the rules.

It must be an Interstate hoodoo, because just when you think there is a good news story to come out of a race, along comes a twist and the story goes straight in the trash and Perth yet again cops the full brunt of Eastern States scorn.

Several people should remember that Stewards monitor social media including Twitter, Facebook and of course this site. Some comments that have been made sail close to the edge of disaster, and some participants would be well advised to have a sit down and take a load off.
