How many members this forum has?

Could go $5 each for 500 members, at the tune of $2500 - buy a cheapie and call it Perth Turf Talk

Placid Arc )about $600 from memory) - A champion who won HEAPS.
Mount Eden (about $400) - A champion and won a lot as far as trots go.
Kingston Town was handed in at the sales as they couldn't get a decent price and Smith's wife took him because she liked him.

i thought the thread was for a cheap horse "YOU" had bought.

i was the under bidder on Felined a couple of years ago..think it sold for 2,200 and then went on to win several races including a Saturday race..........there are hundreds of stories in relation to "SOMEONE" else, but are there any out there of real cases that anyone on here has been involved in???

In 1974, went to a small time breeder in Victoria - unfashionable sire (Pacer) - had 3 yearlings (1 colt, 2 fillies) - I liked the chestnut colt, the bay filly and the chestnut filly. Couldn't decide - bought the lot of them - 3 for $3000. The Chestnut Colt was a crab - won one race at Williams - best MR 2.12.6 - hopeless. The bay filly could run but was stark raving mad and destroyed about 3 training carts and one brand new race cart - frightened the life out of Val Pereira and Don Harper Snr when she went beserk at Orange Grove one morning but she could run 2400m in 3min 10 on her ear. Never raced. The last of the 3 was a gem - won at GP as a 2yo, 3yo, 4yo Mares Classic, 5yo reached fast class (2.13 handicap on the old system) and over 45k in stakes back in the late 70's when 45k bought more than new car.

Bart Cummings blows everyone out of the water with So You Think.

Purchased for NZ$ 110,000. He won A$ 8,893,822. Then they sold him in part for a price that valued him at $60M.
