    We don't have the Allan Bonds and Connells that are on ego trips and want to sponsor the large amounts for prize money. What we have is a organisation from trainers, owners, jockeys, racing employees and most of all patrons that support this exciting sport!

    from the press release

    "The multi-storey structure will operate 18 hours a day, seven days a
    week and boast restaurants, lounges, cafes, a gym and an 800-people
    function centre."

    "The entertainment facility is expected to cater for a population of 8000
    from the high and medium-residential developments at the course and
    12,000 people from the developments across the road at Burswood."

    It will struggle to compete with Crown until these developments are complete IMHO and as I've stated before I cant see the racecourse side of things being finished in my lifetime.

    I don't know Ted but if you can do better job put your hand up. To many people in life want to knock but can they run with the bulls with a red shirt on??

    scoot, you are in the dark ages...most races are named after tab/pr divisions.

    get your guys off their shiny arses and get sponsers for races...have a look at your members list there are plenty of  managing directors out there and guys that are decision makers. invite them to the commmittee room for lunch, one at a time with wives or mistresses (or boyfriends as it is 2014) and get them mellow.  it ain't rocket science.

    lot of love today..it may have been the clerk in the bank at 11.30am, that made a dumb statement and was meet with a barrage of abuse, or the car load of hoons i ran off the road at 7pm tonight and refused to stop as the crazy old fat white boy must be crazy to do that!!!!! Apart from them, today

    I don't care about history I only think about the future and where it could lead PR with the Belmont Redevelopment. I don't live in the dark ages but companies don't spend the money like they did and Falcon they aren't my guys if you are a member like myself the they are our guys. Maybe Falcon you should get a job with PR as you think you know how easing it is to get companies to part with their money? Ha Ha

    The Grandstand and the Residential developments are 2 different projects.

    Hopefully construction the new grandstand (in whatever form it is taking) commences within 12 months.

    The commencement date for the other is anyone's guess :-??

    They aren't my number one asset, I am theirs but I don't whinge and moan about what I don't get as the racing is what I am there for. Many people put their heart and sole into making this sport which we all watch passion. I will be at the next members meeting with a few reasonable suggestions will you all be there???

    the part of the company i manage has a turnover in excess of $30mil/annum...i've recently been involved in negotiating an international buyout of a mine worth nearly twice that..before this i managed about $200mil/year turnover with staff of over 700....whippy do...if i was the janitor at maccas and was interested in going to the races, my opinion should still be encouraged by any organizations that provide that service..

    They sold the land they wished/could to a private Company who is going to develop residential dwellings on it.

    PR is using part of the funds from that sale to build a new grandstand.

    The issue here is no-one seems to know exactly what they plan to build or how much it will cost.
