Seems every time there is a trainer under the spotlight you come on here complaining about the rules.
The rules are the rules. Start another thread if you don't like them. Fact is, there are rules. Every trainer knows about them, but many have complete contempt for them and by extension, us.
Rodent's correct: the trainers who break the rules, I don't care how minor, are helping their horse, while the others don't.
And the French trainer who was doing bugger all apparently, was treating an ulcer, yet every other horse with an ulcer didn't.
You may not like the rule but the point of this thread is that some trainers don't care and many fans of the sport have had a gut full.
As for the Grant Williams cheer squad, I don't give a shit how wonderful a bloke he is, the fact is he broke the rules and regardless of the substance and the reason for applying it, many on here are unimpressed and I'm one of them.
Also, Andrew: the stewards are grandstanding are they? It seems to me that if they don't have an inquiry into a clear breach of the rules which has been pretty much admitted to, then why are we paying them?

in 2011 it was an entirely different stewards action to guest wing. why?
go figure!
THAT ws blatant!! and the horse was allowed to start, and win the perth cup.
go figure...if i was grant williams i'd be throwing that in their face.
You inform the stewards knock your self out tube lube an glue the feckers
G Williams needs a ban simple as that a message must be sent
I'm a tiny, tiny punter..absolutely miniscule..Diva would confirm that. But i had done my punting that day around my Ranger bets..to have him scratched cost me my whole days punting theory.. Not an issue, shit happens.. (oh and more fool me on that horse) But i feel that would need to be looked in as much as anythign else. I'd assume it will be investigated to see if any individual or known groups of individuals had a benefit in Ranger not being in the race.
I hope they just dont look at the betting on Ranger, but try to tie that into the betting off Ranger. Big ask, but you'd assume that it would at least be considered to see if there was a benefit to anyone.
As for me..i jsut found a new way for Ranger to suck the money out of my wallet!!!!

The stable hand think well the flys might be bad at the races today so I'll take some vanilla Essenes with me because I have no idea that you can't treat a horse on race day and I'll just apply it to ranger a group one runner with no knowledge of any senior members of the stable... That sounds like a good idea I should get a pay rise for this???

If you have heard of VE being applied as a fly deterrent for horses on raceday in the stall area- you would be the 1st Ive come across.
But maybe you are correct - maybe I am friendless and dont socialise enough - so I'll throw it out there -
Prior to this thread has anyone here heard of VE being applied to a horses mouth and nostrils as a fly deterrent on raceday in the stall area ??
