  No re-handicap for the winner Ruscello for the Melbourne Cup. So he has 50kg in the Cup. The trainer and owners are currently deciding whether to run in the Cup or not.

  Ruscello will be running in the Cup. The weight is interesting - 50kg is what Ruscello will carry. The last time a Cup runner carried 50kg was Moatize in 2008, Moatize got 6th. But the last time a horse carried 50kg in the Melbourne Cup and won was Rogan Josh in 1999.

   

  Interesting also that both Ruscello and Rogan Josh won on Derby Day.
