    Asked  and Answered.

Well I figure that the dearth of answers identifies the paucity of performances markers.

OK Judgment Time -  ( Diva said 3 months was too early to judge ) so how is it after 6 months.

    • plenty said - "great appointment"  " good for committeeman"  " young blood /enthusiasm"
...but has he achieved anything, contributed anything to the betterment of Perth Racing or initiated any strategies for the future?
Notice he carried the AFL Grand Final trophy out on Sat.

My judgement vote is - "same ol' same ol' "   &  like the sickie Postie - " failed to deliver"

    He's not running the state..

He is part of a committee, steering a sporting club..not an industry representative. Not there to sort out handicap issues. Not there to sort out scheduling of races, or funding for the industry..

He is in a sporting club where the members see the price of a toasted sandwich, the taste of the coffee and the price of a bottle of cheap bubbly are the major issues.....

Is he the right person for that job?????? As radman said..Interesting

I still see the appointment as interesting, but i'd suggest that he probably doesn't. Still haven't seen him at the club, but then again i haven't been too often in the past 3 weeks!!!! Or in fact the past 3 months.

As a memeber i have seen no correspondence from him or him mentioned in any correspondence, so my opinion - if forced to give one - is that he has had no noticeable impact on the managing of the club. He may have, but i haven't seen, heard or noticed it in anyway.

And if you are going to appoint a high profile commitee person you'd expect people to notice them. Oops nearly forgot to answer the question rac, so in my opinion the appointment has been a failure.

i must admit i have never seen peter at the races..nor have i heard his name mentioned.

quite frankly i don't think he has the heart or time for the job. he has various business interests, he is on the radio for 3 hours each day, which requires a lot of homework. plus he has a young family. the man is extremely time poor.

it may be best for all concerned for him to retire from the race well prior to the agm...which is only weeks away, after all he was only making up numbers and keeping a seat warm.

Happy for him to swap his radio gig for PRacing, radio show is woeful, if Paul Murray only has 25,000 listening reckon the afternoon shift would be friends and rellies.

    Boring as

    Raconteur,

I don't know why you single out Peter Bell for criticism, he is one of a number of committee members who it could be easily argued, do exactly what you accuse him of. Anyone who is new to a job would be finding their way in the first few months.

Instead of attacking Peter, why don't you name all the positives initiatives put into place by some of the longer serving members of that committee ?

Because the thread is called "Peter Bell joins Perth racing Commitee"
    Sorry to get pedantic.

Thanks Dale - that was my part answer also - but given that it was initially suggested that time will tell if he makes a change - I thought it appropriate ( on the eve of Elections) to re visit and see what other posters thoughts were.
I have stated my views -
and if achieving absolutely Nil  in his 6 months   puts him equal to others on the committee, doesn't that say something about the system and the person?

Possibly Dwyer you could assist by listing his achievements to let us better judge.

How do you blame volunteers on the commitee? what about the paid CEO what is his name? what has he achieved so far? bad form to knock volunteers in my book.

....easy, nobody twisted their arm to stand for election
          - you voluntarily  take the seat, you become accountable - simply.

Ergo, lack or performance attracts criticism. Members and the influenced public are entitled to form and voice an opinion.

Mr Bell, I implore you not to stand for reelection lest you become tainted by the inability  of Perth Racing to make commonsense business decisions.
Just leave with your name intact.
