why is there no Poll on Yuro this run?

Personally I think Robbity Bob Turrell has him spot on to get the bickies, has trimmed up nicely and looks a treat, pity the same couldnt be said for the strapper.

Also the Pontiff is BACK

i'm with you. think he'll win.don't think the filly if she runs in the derby will get near him.
  • thanks Della, I had NFI as to what to do, been a bad week on the punt and the only good thing is it cant get any worse.

i also dont think GJ will get close come derby time to a few of the colts,do think Verossi is a chance to knock off Yuro on saturday again though.

I can't believe the price about Yuro. For a horse that doesn't win too often they always have him favourite. :?:

has only had 5 or so starts. how often do you want him to win
  • dungydungy    9,278 posts
He is on his last chance with me,i will back him on nSaturday ive taken $5- this bloke has to start winning-
Dont think it will matter i reckon the filly GJ or Famous Roman are going just as good or better -its just another case of a false favourite with Harvey on board -geez its hard to make a dollar with this bloke on the prices are always unders it gets boaring .

Amen to that. Not sure I've ever been so uninterested in the Derby and lead ups as I have this year.

Still think the Derby is very open. FR didn't do much wrong and Yuro got a plum run and nice finish!

Derby ain't shut and closed just yet! But the better horse and ride won today!
  • Pontiff is BACK

took matters into his own hands and bounced out, box seat, didnt go until 250m out. Who needs owners instrustions when the Pontie is on song.

Will be winning the Derby now the Pontiff is control, great to see Robbity Bob Turrell with yet another good horse, had a few in his younger days couple of Springs that went good, whispers and Echoes.

Hope I get a invite to the party after the Derby.

Understand the offer is now bigger than HUGE, is HUGER

not sure about plum run, was in a bit of strife there at one stage.

I have to agree with you PB, Yuro will be hard to beat in the Derby.

Worrying for many that Dash Incredible, going into the race an eight start maiden, beat home some better performed rivals after doing his fair share of work.

I thought many behind Yuro looked spent and the step up to 2400m will easily see many of them gasping for air late. Some may have not been fully switched on today but I really don't think that the case. We have had better years in relation to talent but the breed these days is rarely aimed at staying types. Admittedly we have some that will contest the Group 1 event that are bred to stay but not many.

It was by far Harvey's best ride of the day. A country mile in front of his other rides on the day.

Interesting to note Grand Journey ran the Natasha (2200m) in 2.16.46 in comparison to Yuro 2.16.94. Both had gun runs and the rail position of little consequence as it was 9m last Saturday compared to the 12m today.

I've always thought Yuro had a mortgage on the Derby but if Grand Journey wins the Oaks next Saturday and heads towards the Derby she will give the race one hell of a shake as she is seasoned for the mile and a half.

There was some talk after the race that Dash Incredible wouldn't get a start in the Derby. Dash Incredible has to get a run in the Derby on that effort. It would be embarrassing if he didn't as Scenic Bullet who ran 5th was 4 1/4 from the winner and everything else from 6th back just didn't do enough and in reality that don't deserve to be in front of Dash Incredible. Common sense must prevail.

wide throughout again Dash Incredible and was belting away at the end. Outstanding effort.
  • Famous Roman cant stay, or has done a Pat

Guess what I meant, is he was more forward than his last few runs and that is where he obviously needs to be!
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
agree with that LL. Its amazing the difference a positive riding attitude made to him last week. Wonder if they ride him forward again next start?
  • MightAndPowerMightAndPower    4,148 posts
reckon they might diva..stick with a winning formula and not allow the others too much start?? certainly seems the one to stay the trip best...and i think they did that with guyno last year didnt they so it could catch new spice for once
  • well its up to the Pontiff, rode against instructions sat and got the bugs bunny.

Good win, top ride. They won't get near him in the derby.

Yeh and because he got bagged so much on Sat about that ride he spat his chewy and stayed home today like a little school boy 8)

    Sounds like him ice

If yuro had been ridden the same way
in his prior runs he would have a picket
    fence before his name

The ride by Harvey on yuro was 1st class

The ride on marasco was pathetic
    3 wide with 60 ova 1500 1st up.
    Gave it no chance.

The ride on lambton was .....................
Be very surprised to see him on that one again.

On lambton, couldn`t believe ernie manning
had him as the SIN BIN of the week.

Did you watch the race ernie :?:

Should be Paul Harvey in the sin bin,
    NOT THE HORSE.
Showed a lot of heart to finish where it did
    with no help from above.

About time he got the s....
Been giving to me for ages

  • Hitman I hope you not what your name suggets?

Simple rode the others to instructions.

He knew you had to be on pace. Marasco wasnt ready, Lambton is a suck.

Just remember PONTIFF IS BACK, the hunger is there again, i can see it written all over his face
  • SuburbanPunkSuburbanPunk    199 posts
He didn't have the hunger today, maybe his rides just couldn't win.

Must have devoured too many Easter eggs yesterday when succumbing to the day of supernatural belief.
