Morant came from Jim Taylor and Ballantyne won with it. It went from Ballantyne to Price and won 4 in a row.
Galaxy Queen went from Durrant to Ballantyne. Ballantyne won with it achieving its highest rating.
Broadway Belle went from Haggerty to Ballantyne who again won with it and achieved its highest rating winning a Listed Race.
Mystic Hour, Ballantyne won 3 races with it in 7 starts. 2 in town including a Saturday $50k race. It was then transferred to Ross Price where in 4 starts it won 1 race, a $14k race at Pinjarra.
On looking back at Ballantyne's runners, these were the obvious ones I knew Peters owned. I'm sure there are more but I don't think it makes Ballantyne look as bad as Andrew Carter paints him.
p.s how many trainers have been able to win a Saturday race in town with a March 10yo having its 92nd start? G.Ballantyne must be doing something right to achieve that remarkable feat. He got old Changing Lanes via McPherson and then Jim Taylor. The horse had already had 53 starts when he got it as an autumn 7yo. To squeeze 4 more Saturday metro wins out of him was a massive effort. The horse had only won at that level 4 times in its previous 53 starts!

Good luck backing Ballantyne horses you're going to need it.

You and several others asked me to elaborate on why my statement of Talent Show going east was a waste of time under the current trainers guidance when those reason were then elaborated upon you then attacked me for elaborating upon those reason and attempted to turn my reasoning into an assault on a trainer who wins races about as often as I eat moussaka, virtually never.

Morant was potentially a very good horse, Broadway Belle was a potential star that massively underachieved, as for horses not improving they rarely get sold because they don't want to be exposed by someone with any idea. There is a lot more to it than that and I'm not going to elaborate any further as it would betray confidences.

At the time pretty much sure that it was Haggerty and Ballantyne who were Bob's primary trainers and the horse split between them Jimmy had told Bob to stuff it basically he had taken them off Durrant and Grant wasn't on the horizon yet or had just a couple of horses.

Proving yet again that you're incorrect Aussie I admit when I'm wrong but I have yet to be proven incorrect in the Pike case as he is more than likely appealing and stewards blaming an innocent party for a racing incident doesn't make me incorrect.

How's this for being wrong mate I made an error in judgment in evaluating incorrectly the relative merit of Maggies Mystery's two recent performance in comparison to that of the winner Centrefold Angel last two starst at GP just last night in the second last race when Centrefold Angle outstayed maggies mystery.

I suggest you crawl back under the rock where you came you from Aussie I haven't forgotten your earlier comment and your supposed apology, nice to see you reveal your true character though and expose it for all to see.

I have nothing personal against Ballantyne other than I don't like the way he operates if you or others can't handle that it's your problem not mine.

Why don't you enquire about the whereabouts of a horse that showed real city potential early in its career but that was still relatively raced and you will never see again and that about as far I'm going to go, if you're really clever you might be able to figure that one out.

Zero hope, unless it goes to a decent trainer over there for obvious reasons.

Plenty of small trainers go good and train a hell of a lot better than some so called leading trainers and I support a number of them, Ballantyne however is not on that list. That's my considered opinion but you're entitled to your own.

Successfully travelling and having a horse perform at its optimum is one of the hardest things a trainer can do, Ballantyne's record as a trainer overall hardly inspires confidence that he will be able to achieve that difficult task, that might be be a harsh assessment but its also factual.

No one turned your reasoning into an attack on the trainer.

You did it yourself by the 3 quotes above.

Noticed the strike rate comment has disappeared also.

You totally disregard Rodent`s comment on Ballantyne horses from other trainers and come up with a few horses that underachieved.

Now you`ve changed from saying he can`t train to saying you don`t like the way he operates.

Does that mean the same thing?

A lot of cheap shots and complete lack of balance in your posts AC, most would expect more from someone with your journalistic background.

have you arm chair critics have any idea how ballantyne feels reading this crap.?
how would you feel after training a cup winner to have to read all these derogatory comments....you, especially you, andrew carter, who by all accounts have been subject to mud slinging...now you are hurling fistfulls of the stuff.
you should be ashamed of yourself!!

I reckon he has done a marvellous job winning a Perth Cup with Talent Show!

Strike rate comment wasn't removed by me fastmoney.
I see he just improved upon that slightly with a horse that has real ability in Miss Omeresa, whether it ends up where it should with the ability it possesses will be interesting.

I don't know why this topic has deteriorated into an attack on Graeme Ballantyne, some people don't know when to ease up. I reckon Talent Show has a good chance in a race like the Adelaide Cup.
Melbourne is a different matter but good luck to them wherever they take her. I wouldn't mind owning her.

It was great to see this horse win the Perth Cup and if the owners want to keep following their dream then good on them.
Sometimes it is about the journey!

Opinionated yes, arrogant no, I express strong opinions that are more often than not based upon and backed up by facts if you don't like that, that is your problem not mine.

Not really 'some' people just one arrogant forumite who seems completely unable to take in any posts that disagree with his own views. This same person had the balls to say I went on like a broken record...INTROSPECTION !!!

Any idea on how much weight Talent Show will get for the Adelaide Cup - an ideal weight I assume??

Last WA horse to win the Adelaide Cup was Moss Kingdom in 1984.

1984 proved to be a good year for WA stayers with Perth born Black Knight winning the Melbourne Cup later that year.

    Cheers,
