Gumby steps up to the plate for this week's Belmont preview.

Markets are out, Travinator at $1.35 is pretty short? I thought the other dose of unders was Battle Ace at $2.30, then again, that is a woeful field outside the top weight.

The feature goes like this:
Playing God $4
Grand Nirvana $6
Werd $6.50
Texan $3.30
Bites the Dust $8
Kerrific $9
Rocky Range $31
Vizard $81.

Gee...race 4 is  a ripper.. reckon one of the first 3 will finish shorter than 3's..Detection for me, but most of the field look a chance with the right run..

Tough meeting. The professional tipsters only get a 20% strike rate during the course of their careers, so this will really test them.

Is it right, the 20% figure?

R4 Little Shadow (not much luck 2 only starts) at good each way odds.... may shade the others

R7 Andraczke should go well first up

R8 The Alleged back to the 1200 will finish strongly

I can never catch him but Texan is the one tomorrow. Liked the confidence of Durrant on radio this morning.

Gee that Test the Angels is an imposter looks like he is going to win at most stages of the straight but lacks the heart to win one thought boy Hills ride was very good to box the Kim horse good bit of riding

What a spectacle the Birthday was. Connections/rider of Werd obviously content to maximize probability of running 2nd. Might go kick the footy instead if that's what's served up.

If I had Werd, I'd have tried to outkick Texan off a slow pace. He's too weak at 1200m to work and then finish it off in that grade. Race wasn't much of a spectacle but it was run in very predictable fashion imho.

I have just seen the results on CRIS, what happened to Playing God ?

Can't blame them. To win a race in Perth is like killing yourself. You'll be given 60kgs every single time.

Playing God was just never in it. Settled back and never had a kick at all.

The trial during the week was week. Trial form was weak. From featherweight to 62kgs...too much to ask.

Playing God pulled up with cardiac arrhythmia.

I'd say the Harrison stable had a plan in that race and their tactics paid off handsomely. I'm not sure Reale Fury could have won without Flirtman in the race.  :-w

The horse that is a myth had drifted from 4 to1 to 14 to 1 with 12 minutes betting left---may well start 44 to 1 at this rate...if its gets to 20s i gotta believe the myth and get on!

where did you hear what happened to playing god ? , there's no excuse for how shockingly terribly bad he ran, for a horse of his stature, just absolute pathetic, how embarrasing for the parnham family.

    Announced on course

wow...well done to the myth horse but he never got to the bloody 20s so i am spewing...sometimes betfair is amazing and hats off to lindsey smith and jordan mallyon!
  • i havent seen the run however if the horse has pulled up with cardiac arythmia ther is every excuse for a poor run.  i am sure that the overiding emotion in the parnham camp would be concern rather than embarrasment
