Still no rider for Menuhin in the last. By my reckoning, there is no rider available so why hasn't it been scratched? Of course they may have left him in to generate turnover and the suckers who bet on him through quaddies, trebles and doubles will have to cop the sub.
If it plays out how I expect, it is extremely poor form :naughty:

the last 600 race section for r6 is interesting.

the horse leading at the 600 has a faster section than the race has!

You can thank RWWA stewards for that, they were asked around race 5 for the change on the last and it took them that long to figure it out.... Also the lack of info for the all clear on the 1st race.....

surely not a life ban...no mention of anything at RWWA accept a fine of $2500
    and even thats too harsh

    pathetic... pathetic..pathetic

If RWWA feel that his conduct was that bad that he should be sacked...what are they going to do to the stewards that found it only to be breach of rules and fined him???

As stated in their release on May 29, they took into account his 30yrs of unblemished service to the industry..but then the knob heads in the HR Department say it is a breach and he is dismissed..

In that case i hope they start applying that penalty to everyone involved in racing that is employed by them...that includes people they manage via offering licenses to operate..If they issue licenses they take responsibility for those licensed operators to perform to their code of conduct..

What about RWWA's responsibility for providing a safe work place for their employees???? Did they not provide security for Dave..Was there not a security person from RWWA to be there in case any of their staff were attacked, heckled?????

What did RWWA do (or not do) to provide Dave with a hassle free workplace where he could go about working for them in a professional manner???? Re-instate Dave immediately and sack the cretin that made such a stupid decision..

He was hassled, he reacted, he was found guilty and fined, hopefully he was sent on an anger management course..and that should be the end of it..

However an apprentice in their care gets found to have drugs in their system and they are suspended..time and time again...It appears that RWWA's ethics department are fine with kids in their care taking drugs and entering the work place, but a guy with 30years experience lets fly in a rugged environment and hits a nutter and they sack him :? :? :?

IMO....i'd rather a guy lose his temper once every 30 years than a young kid take drugs and enter a work place...but of course the RWWA's ethics commit has a lot better handle on these issues than i ever will... :x :x

And don't ask me to highlight the amount of trainers they allow to continue in our industry that have been found guilty of drugging horses..Obviously that isn't as serious a breach of conduct for a person in their control as slugging a heckling nutter in the middle of the bush, when they are really responsible for not providing a safe work place.

Oh and one last foot note..i fear no persecution for writing this as they obviously took the side of the nutter in Dave's situation and have gone about protecting him and persecuting Dave for reacting..if any of the RWWA dickheads re-act in anyway, Dave's case will only leave the HR department with no other course of action but to dismiss those people immediately..

Rant over...I'm off to take my meds now...

been described as a bit of a b@#ch on many occasions Slip....

But this one really gets under my skin..for once i agreed with the stewards course of action...found guilty, fined and basically told to pull his head in..then they go and sack him...

:annoyed: :annoyed: :annoyed: arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that feels better!!

just in case you didn't know........there was once a guy called rosendorf....

.....when he was allowed this credit, who do you think was in charge of the tab?

who do you think was later appointed to run rwwa?

so a little guy gets his livelihood destroyed for one little wrong, but a big guy gets what for doing wrong?

    http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-165993076.html

    where it starts off like......
"Jul 04, 2007 (The West Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The new head of Racing & Wagering Western Australia oversaw betting during a scandal. Richard Burt will take up his position as CEO in September 2007. He was general manager of the wagering division of the WA TAB in the 1990s, when Craig Rosendorff ran up betting debts of over $A4 million. Rosendorff then sued to regain his money, using the argument that credit betting was contrary to the rules of the TAB. The matter was ?"

Carey..thanks for the history lesson..Quite amazing that not only was Burt involved in the investigation but also the Sports Minister at the time is now the leader of the Opposition!!!!! McGowan....I did recall the event but had not tied it to this situation

As so often is the case in government departments..if someone is totally bloody hopeless you promote them to get them out of their current position!!!

I would suggest that has applied to both of the above..What a great piece of history to have on your resume...i was invovled with RWWA during the Rosendorff affair!!!!

Back to this issue..why is the jockey that had a punch up with an apprentice still allowed to earn a living from this industry??? if this 51 year old, 30 year veteran of this industry, with an unblemished record loses his livelihood, shouldn't a man who assulted an apprentice - both licensed by RWWA - be denied an opportunity to continue to make a living from this industry also??? I'm struggling to see the difference..

And a footnote..i actully feel that the stewards got it right in both cases...My argument - and it could be wrong - is that a licensed and regulated operator in this industry can just about do anything they want and maintain themselvs in the industry, whereas a contracted employee cant..If they have an ethics committee that is working for the good of the industry, and RWWA control both staff and contractors, then the interpretation should be the same..it is in every industry and every workplace with contract, licensed and employed staff that i have worked in..why not here!?!?!?!?

Am hoping the bottle of sedatives i just took cut in soon!!!!! before every horse i have an involvemnet in gets ballotted out of every race they get entered in!!!!

Yes, I was disappointed to read that about Dave Sheehan, liked him as a racecaller, nice smooth sound. Considering some of the jerks that get numerous chances....Can something be done, a petition maybe to get him reinstated.
  • TheBullshipperTheBullshipper    11 posts
There is a petition circulating in Kalgoorli & I believe that strong protests are being arranged from the country clubs concerned.
It really only directly effects clubs in the Goldfields - Esperance regions as that is virtually "his area". However the stronger voice of all racing people statewide is urged, to have him reinstated and this ridiculous decision overturned.

    RIO "

".but of course the RWWA's ethics commit has a lot better handle on these issues than i ever will... "

seems that RWWA ethics committee does nothing - they just rubber stamp the reports from racing investigaters (we all know where he is!) and chief of stewards (and we all know where he is too!) - this RWWA beaurocracy is sickening - what about the way it used to be with blokes running the industry that knew the industry - at least it was a fair kick.

In today's kalgoorlie miner, it says that the ban has now been reviewed and he will be able to call again in August.
  • RIORIO    14,902 posts
Good to hear but i can't seem to find a press release from RWWA or on the kalminer web page about it..

But if it is in the paper that is a start......Wonder why they changed their stance????
