RACE 1 ? D?ORSOGNA PREMIUM BACON HANDICAP 1600m
No. 3 TRUE GOLD ? This looks to be a fairly open race with which to kick off the day. I?ll stick with (3) TRUE GOLD who has his hoof firmly planted on the till. His three starts this preparation have yielded three placings and he will definitely appreciate not having to bump into the talented, Kalahaar. From barrier 1, he?ll get a sweet run in transit and if he can find clear room approaching the straight, he?ll be in the finish. (1) PATTIE ME LASS meets True Gold 2.5kg better at the weights and looms as the main danger. Her first up run was solid and she has previously raced once at the track/distance and produced a very good win. (7) JUST HOPING is still a maiden but he does have ability. His debut effort was good and he had little luck at his most recent outing when he flooded home for third after meeting interference before the straight. (2) MUSTERING will appreciate the step up to a mile and is a solid top chance.
Numbers ? 3, 1, 7, 2
RACE 2 ? D?ORSOGNA CONTINENTAL SELECTION HANDICAP 1300m
No. 2 THEORIA ? I?m happy to stick with the last start city winner, (2) THEORIA, in this juvenile event. She was heavily commissioned and didn?t let the punters down, getting up in the last stride after settling further back than most anticipated. She found the line nicely suggesting the 1300m should suit and with normal luck in running, she?ll go close to making it back to back wins. (4) REBELSON only won a Northam maiden last start but it was the manner of the victory that impressed. He missed the kick and settled at the tail but he had his rivals covered a long way from home. He?s another who will be suited to the step up in trip. (3) YOUR BUY has run solid seconds at both of his two starts to date and looms with each way chances again. (13) TOPPERS HALO has had no luck at all at both his two starts, and with clear galloping room, he?ll be in the mix.
Numbers ? 2, 4, 3, 13
RACE 3 ? D?ORSOGNA CHAMPAGNE HAM HANDICAP 1300m
No. 5 BORN TO EXCEL ? This is a quality restricted grade event for the three-year-olds. There are number of gallopers in this race who are going places. I?ve settled on the regally bred, (5) BORN TO EXCEL who should be really tuned up and ready to go, fresh after having the benefit of two barrier trials. In his first preparation he impressed; winning twice and placing twice from just his four starts. In his final run before a spell, he finished a close up third behind Night War and Watermans Bay in the Group III Sir Ernst Lee-Steere Classic. From barrier 3, I expect Shaun O?Donnell to have him in the firing line early and I think he?ll be hard to get over in the straight. (3) JUST WICKED is a favourite of mine and she has major claims to make it four wins from just seven starts. She was dropped back to midweek company at her last start and she took care of her rivals with ease. The 59kg is a slight query but she has a touch of class and will be thundering home. (10) ACCELAROMETER is a promising galloper who returns from a freshen up. He?ll probably get back from his wide gate but watch for him late. (8) DEMIMONDE had the soft run on the fence last start and finished nicely. From barrier 1 he should get all the favours again.
Numbers ? 5, 3, 10, 8
RACE 4 ?D?ORSOGNA QUALITY HANDICAP 1000M
No. 4 SWEET SERENITY ? I?m happy to play here and get involved with the talented mare (4) SWEET SERENITY. She is a mare who likes to get back in her races but when on song, can unleash a booming late finish. She?s had the benefit of a barrier trial in which she was asked for very little and I think she?ll be extremely hard to hold out in this 1000m dash. (3) PILLOW TIME won very well last start, aided by a perfect ride by Joseph Azzopardi. From barrier 1, she?s likely to get the same run in transit and be in the finish again. (5) TEXAN is flying for Adam Durrant. He has to drop back to 1000m but he?ll give his all and be in the mix. (1) MEGEM?S BOY is a 1000m specialist who will be flying home late as he always does.
Numbers ? 4, 3, 5, 1
RACE 5 ? D?ORSOGNA CLASSIC MEATS HANDICAP 2100m
No. 9 CYBER CRIME ? A couple of up and coming stayers clash in this event but I?m happy to stick with (9) CYBER CRIME who has impressed at both his runs in the state. He was a dominant first up winner and then was beaten a lip at his most recent outing after he got back to last in running. He appears to be crying out for the step to 2100m and I think he will take some beating. The clear second pick in the race for me is (15) LEOLUCK who has returned a treat this preparation, winning all three starts in terrific fashion. At his most recent outing he parked over the speed and never gave his rivals a look in, clearing out early in the straight to post a dominant win. He has to step up in grade and distance but he?ll park right over the speed and will be the one to run down. (13) BOY MAMBO is just about ready to win another race. His effort at his most recent outing was good. (8) BLACK MOMENT will need luck from his draw but he excels at this track and shouldn?t be discounted.
Numbers ? 9, 15, 13, 8
RACE 6 ? ITALIAN FESTIVAL 2012 HANDICAP 1600m
No. 1 MR MOET ? I?m happy to stick with the talented gelding (1) MR MOET. He has built up an exceptional record with six wins from his last nine starts. He will get back in running and has to lump 59.5kg but if he can get a cart into the race, he?ll be hard to hold out. (5) COME PARTY ground his way to victory last start after getting a charmed run in transit. From his good draw he should camp close again and looks to have good claims. (13) MIGHTY ROSSA always seems to find traffic problems but one day he?ll peel to the middle of the track and win a race in emphatic style. (10) KIM CLASSIC should get a soft run and is in the mix.
Numbers ? 1, 5, 13, 10
RACE 7 ? $125,000 GROUP III ? D?ORSOGNA ROMA CUP 1200m
No. 2 LUCKGRAY ? What a cracking line-up we have assembled for this feature winter sprint. The combined stake earnings of the ten runners exceeds $5.1 million and includes two group 1 winners! I?m happy to stick with last year?s Railway Stakes winner, (2) LUCKYGRAY. He has a devastating turn of foot when he?s on song and going by his recent barrier trial win, he should be bursting out of his skin for his return. The small field suits as he?ll likely settle at the tail but will hopefully gobble them up in the straight. (1) GRAND NIRVANA is a warhorse who loves the Belmont Park track. He has started there on ten occasions and posted seven first class wins. The weight-for-age scale suits and he will be the one Luckygray will need to run down. (9) AVANTE is another who is suited back to this weight scale. From barrier 1 she should box seat and be in the finish. (7) DREAMAWAY returns from her unsuccessful Melbourne excursion and she is a mare packed with class. She?ll probably find this a bit short but watch for her late.
Numbers ? 2, 1, 9, 7
RACE 8 ? MISS ITALY 2012 HANDICAP 1400m
No. 3 FULL STEAM AHEAD ? I think punters can head home backing a winner. The Dongara trained galloper, (3) FULL STEAM AHEAD is a very promising type and he?ll be very hard to beat again. His last start win was dominant and he only needs to get a little bit of luck from the gate and he?ll be chalking up win number five from his last six starts. (10) CAPRICIOUS LAD just can?t seem to draw a gate. He was game behind Full Steam Ahead at their last clash and he has each way claims again. (1) DANGEROUSLY put it all together at his most recent outing, posting a dominant midweek grade win. He?ll get a sweet run from the draw but will just need an opening approaching the straight. (11) DEVILISH INTENT is honest and will camp over the speed from his good draw and should be in the mix.
Numbers ? 3, 10, 1, 11

r8 decisive win by dangerously last start, but in a weaker field.
good luck, perthturferites...
sliding down the ladder quickly this girl will end up battling away in the bush for a ride `
her mount had no chance before the race, but yes she does appear to be struggling.
maybe the kick in the guts she must have received from a certain stable has hurt her confidence.
Sweet Serenity in the next for me. P Harvey riding at 56kgs, I bet he'll be using the skid.
