Fairly sure this race claimed Andretti on her return, they thought it was an easy kill. Hope lightning doesn't strike twice.

I'm still unsure whether she is actually going to the UK - I'll believe it when I see it!

Two runs in SA, then spell til spring - I'd love to see her go there and smash them (which she probably will do), but it's a long way to go for worst prizemoney than she is racing for here!

In saying that - she already has one leg of the Global Sprint Challenge down!

I have already said it is an unneccessary risk. won't change her value as a broodmare or the countless freebies connections will be offered for the ten years following her retirement.

If they are worried about money they can pick up a million by winning the Global Challenge.

Although the money for the Diamond Jubilee and July Cup is not fantastic it is more than either of the 2 Adelaide races.

However the prestige of Royal Ascot is still up there with anything else in the world.

Its never been about her broodmare value Moody and the owners want to win in Europe

Winning twice in the UK won't win her the bonus as the rules state:

"To claim the bonus a horse must win a minimum of three Group 1 races across three different countries during the 2012 Global Sprint Challenge"

She would have to win in either Japan or Hong Kong as well.

I believe they will look for any excuse not to race her overseas
and put her unbeaten record in jeopardy.

Think they are only targeting the Diamond Jubilee - probably wouldn't risk her at Newmarket.

Newmarket claimed the scalps of SB and TT in the same race in 2009.

The Queen doesn't go to Newmarket, but does come down the straight in a horse drawn carriage at Ascot.

As the Son of Irish folks, she is just a nice lady that owns horses as far as I am concerned. Has about as much importance to me, her attending a race meet, as Harvey Crossman being escoted into the grandstand as El Presidente of WAROA by trumpeters and a honour guard.

We are hoping she will run well. It's a Group 1 and we weren't expecting Black Caviar to be in the field. :D

Will see what the new trainer thinks of her. Think another start in a fortnight then a break.

Leon McDonald is taking over the reigns now. Anyone know much about him?

a bloody good trainer...i think he may be the leading one...goes over the border quite often so she'll race in melb for sure.

did you see the longest price of bc's career is 1/4...
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
not quite. started 2/1 in her first start in a race (according to racing and sports).
Started $1.80 and $1.90 on two other occasions I think.
