    AT was never foot sore. She had a high temp during the week prior. That stopped her leaving adel a couple of days earlier. She got over that and worked an amazing time on flemingtons steeple grass on tues. What happened was inexcusable for the owners of the horse not getting to Perth. Whose fault is it? It's too hard to say right now. Maybe Sam tried a little to hard to get a group 2 win maybe wa racing Must ensure all interstate horses will have no trouble getting flights? All that's clear are there are some very upset owners and lots of money lost in prebetting markets. Answers will be coming soon I suspect.

    fact is, the horse has been foot sore all week, the trainer had 2 or 3 flights he could have chosen to get here, "but" he refused to let the horse come as he was worried if when he got here he would have to scratch the horse making him look silly, but the other option was to blame the transport. Only thing was there was a flight Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs he could have been on

    He only bashes PR ,because he is stuck on a wide barrier every race day :lol:

    Some of it I don't quite sympathise with as there has to be an onus on the Trainer to make suitable travel arrangements. But if you want to raise the standard of Racing in WA, and its profile with leading stables and jurisdictions, then I think you have to make some effort in making things happen.

    After transporting the horse to Melbourne via float, in preparation for the flight to Perth at the last possible moment, mostly due to a lack of priority attached to moving horses to Perth by airlines, the flight was cancelled due to a reported mechanical issue. The connections had already scratched the horse from running in Adelaide in a lesser feature race, as they really wanted to come to Perth for the Karrakatta.

    Who gives a flying FK if the don't come over to Perth

    A rather direct email has been sent via the local media, telling Perth Racing that they are on their own in the future as far as leading Melbourne stables are concerned. Another high profile stable has been mentioned as having written off coming here as well.

    I expect that this incident will be written off as an error on behalf of the connections and a young inexperienced Trainer looking for someone to blame, but after the He's Remarkable fiasco, and now this, combined with the on again off again story we were fed re Black Caviar's possible appearance for last year's Winterbottom, I think it is safe to assume that the camel's back has been well and truly broken.

    Who gives a flying F if the east don't want to come to Perth 8) More money for us to win in the east,keep up the good work son :P

    And its ideas like that that keep perth racing on back foot much like some of the riding u see at times not up to standard of a metro meeting have a look at the good old over cook in the plate yesterday.Some of those horses were given none they went way to fast early but then again its something we have come to accept if u bet in perth.

    ICE I am just passing on the email between the journalist and Perth Racing. I don't particularly follow Eastern States Racing, not on a weekly basis anyway. If you had read any of my posts from recent years, you would have realised I am a strong supporter of WA Racing, but certainly not the current adminsitration of Perth Racing.

    Now you may like the idea of quality horses not showing up, as it improves the chances of local horses such as your Dad's yard, but I think that if the State wants to be taken seriously by the rest of the Country, then we have to have Open Racing, not a closed shop. I think a minimal assistance should be extended to anyone who wants to race here in Perth with a high quality horse, even if they are in Country WA.

    If you think I don't do anything for the positive image of Racing in WA, as seen by a couple of thousand people every week on the internet, then you are ill informed.

    So what do you do in Racing ICE ? I know you are the Son of Gino Poletti, but what do you do day to day that could be seen as positive in enhancing this Industry ?

    What happened to all the experts saying that the inside pad was like a bowling green, and that you had to be on the speed to have any chance ?
    After watching the first six races it was clear that being off the speed was the place to be. Mabel Graces run was huge IMO, as leaders struggled all day.

    The way it played was almost like the inside had been watered to offset the usual bias!

    What a terrific win by Luke's Luck.
    The Karrakatta is usually a race won by horses wanting more ground than the 1200m.
    The price was unbelievable

    If we believe the rail was off ( I can't believe I've written that!), from a Sires Perspective the runs of Fuddle de Duddle and to a lesser extent Spice Again looked to have merit.

    The Sires should be a cracker given the runs turned in by the placegetters, as well as Fine Copper.

    im sure it was watered to offset, just not overnight.
    there was no water added (according to cris) but the track was a dead 4 on race morning with no rain the week prior.
