I see a few perth buyers busy at Adelaide.

Parnham, Commercial Bloodstock, Simon Miller and Damien Wyer who purchased the half to Reset Gold by Magnus.

37k seemed a bit light given that reset gold looks above average at this stage so there must have been some issues or perhaps an average type.

From memory Reset Gold is no standout on type though.

Nothing average at all about him, I had him checked by two Vets one out of Melbourne and one from Sydney that our Perth Vet has a high opinion of. Whilst he had a very low risk issues on his near fetlock, the rest of the horse x-rayed superior to a lot of other stock that had been checked by those looking for ready to run types.

When Resetgold was purchased as a yearling, she was considered and still is, light boned. This Magnus colt is also slightly light but not to the same extent. He looks more in the mold of his Sire and looks to be a sprinter, whereas Resetgold comes into her own around a middle distance.

Resetgold was purchased for $22,000 and her half today at $37,000. So in that respect I don't think he was particularly cheap, but still well within budget. Being a November foal, he will be given plenty of time to find his feet, but we would still hope that he runs as a late 2YO.

This Magnus will join Resetgold at Jim Taylor's yard.

Can I just say a quick thank you to Wilson for the heads up a couple of months ago that this yearling was to be offered. At that point I hadn't considered Adelaide as we had only focused on Sydney at Easter.

No worries mate. Keep punching, plenty of horses for everyone. I thought you had it earlier at a very cheap price. I was listening in

My e/s trainer is looking at a nice colt going thru tomoro.
Better not say too much in case Damo tries to buy it! 8)

LOL nah no chance, haven't even looked at day 2. I have a shortlist for Sydney but I think it is at a height where the oxygen is thin.

Aparently he has been inspected over 40 times, so may end up being the Day 2 sale topper :(

Just bought an Ex Art filly for $2k. Offset near front knee but trainer is near Mornington beach and given a little time could be worth the punt at that price. Dam had 4 to race for 4 winners, 1 black type. Is a chestnut too

    Nice Funkster.

I am a big fan of the sire. Is on fire in the Northern Hemisphere.

Lets hope he translates that success in Australia.

Family Portrait is now stakes placed in that race on Monday you classified as 'weak'.

Vonlenska might not be too far behind!

    Just to clarify.

Vonlenska not far behind in stakes placing.

I'm told she is a good walker, good length of rein, but being such an early foal she is quite small with not a lot of scope. The knee is offset but that could have been overlooked had her size been a bit more. Nice family.

So good luck with her, but she may need an easier class to race against than Victorian Country.

So has your Day 2 Sale Topper gone through yet ?

    She was it! lol
No he's near the last hour and if he goes for more than the Artie Schiller then we won't be buying

How can you make that assessment when she hasn't even galloped yet?
I wonder if someone said something similar to the owners of the unfashinably bred Miss Andretti, or the owners of Bel Esprit with his badly offset knee?

Her knee is not the problem. I have owned a talented small horse, and they need an easier grade for the most part. To overcome small size they need huge reserve in talent, and those are rare.

But I was genuine when I said good luck. I hope she wins and wins, as I do for everyone who is brave enough to buy racehorses

Lot 272 is about the smallest R C I have ever seen, hence the price, that does not mean it will not run!

The horse I referred to was once in your yard, LOL !!

It will run, but will it be fast enough to win in Saturday class ?

my best mate owns a small share in the RC/Shapira. Its been gelded and grown to above 15 hands, they feel it could get to almost 16 hands. Its really come on. We went to see it this morning and i posted a couple of photos on my facebook.  Peter Morley is very excited by its prospects
