    Is certainly a hot field. You'd think the winner will then be fav or equal for the Karrakatta. GC MM form is pretty good, but then again it's a long way to travel a 2yo.
    Still a month to go til the big one, which is a hell of a long time for 2yo's.

    Like your confidence Falcon, but as The Funkster says...4 weeks is a long time for a 2yr old.....Will wait and see what ones come straight back into it. Maybe with Saturdays race being so hot it may be the grand final for a few of them...Like the program that DAbbey and Justpatim have with the little let up before the big event......But i know that doesn't always work either.... :?

    I don't think many will run on Saturday, the Gimcrack/Perth Stakes and again in the KP. Not many who have already raced this prep, would be a big ask to keep stepping up to the plate

    I agree with The Falcon.

    However, there's a few in the Supremacy that will improve further into the Gimcrack / Perth Stakes.

    Even though the trial of Miss Solis was in quick time I believe she needed needed the trial as did the second place getter Playhouse Theatre. I doubt they're at they're at their peak for this race but will be spot on for the next two. Not saying they can't win I believe they will improve greatly from the race.

    Fuddle Dee Duddle will also improve after the race I believe.

    Looking forward to the Gimcrack Stakes. If you add in The Danehill Rose, Darlington Abbey and Looking Ahead to the fillies which are racing on Saturday

    Miss Solis, Fuddle Dee Duddle, Vonlenska, Playhouse Theatre and Secret Scandal.

    Could be one of the strongest Gimcrack Stakes for a while.

    On that yesterday the others will need 5 legs to beat her and SM reckons she aint at her top yet could be the shortest price KK fav for a long time the 1200m will suit more ,Trevs horse ran a cracker Luke Luck

    Agree Dungy. It was a soft win in the end. MS had to make the play a bit earlier than you want on on your first up assignment. Carberry used only hands and heels to my eye. Luke's Luck had a nicer run but I think MS had him covered and if anything was pulling away really late. Pity Fuddle and Vonlenska were scratched. This could really affect their preps for the plate. Looking ahead, darlington abbey, jespatim add a new dimension in the Perth Stakes/ Gimcrack and i favour Darlington Abbey to challenge the favourite at this stage.

    Simon Miller is a dead set freak was looking at his record he has come over about 3/4 years ago approx and and has not stop training winners and Stakes winners at that since ,picked up good owners Bell and Meadowcroft ,reckon those boys have had 5 or 6 topliners with him already future only looks rosey for them ,he picked up Power Prince [no disrespect to the former trainer ] but SM improved this mare 2-3L ,Senor De Gama as well was a pick up from the East and will probably go back to back KKs as by the looks of it only bad luck will beat her[Miss Solis ] .
    Will be the states leading trainer in the next few years with out doubt

    Yes his record is outstanding for a guy only 3 to 4 years into putting out his own shingle. I actually think he is a good chance of winning this years premiership. That would be an outstanding effort from 30 odd boxes. I think he can finish the season really strongly based on the performances of several 2 year old triallers who should hit late in the season.

    What impresses me is that his purchases are not priced at the top end generally and often he is not scared to buy 'unfashionably'. Miss Solis, 32k by the irish Oratorio who in early 2011 was right on the nose (possibly pre manawanui) is a good case in point. This year only one purchase at the "premier' section of the Perth sales, which was a Danehill Express for 30 odd. He was more active in the other sessions to follow and I would think that he wouldn't have any budget constraints if he wanted to splash the pot in the premier session.

    Yes I am an unabashed fan.

    Re the Gimcrack/karakatta you would obviously have to throw the Danehill rose in as well who I missed on my last post.

    simon will finish up in hong kong , or at least be offered a slot. he has all the attributes for success, well educated (geelong grammer, i believe), articulate, dedicated to his trade and has the uncanny ability to be able to "read" his horses and gain their full confidence.

    the karrakatta is developing into the race of the year..and rightly so, it is chock full of very promising animals.

    Jestpatim for mine although I was hoping for a little better then $6 , really like what this bloke has done so far especially with only having a 400m trial under his belt before his first run, which was a belter, and then demolished probably an average lot but thats what good horses should do and you would expect there would be good improvement in him , think he's the danger to the fav

    Intersting call. Not sure what more Miss Solis would have to do to graduate out of 'average' class.

    Will be interesting to see who Carbery elects to ride in the Gimcrack. If you trust Jockey judgement it could be a good lead especially given that he most likely would have ridden both in track work as well as on race day.

    I couldn't agree more F.G. It's one of those decisions that no jockey would really want to be making but a lot of the time when a Jockey just can't split the horses they wait for barriers to be drawn. And then of course if the horses draw along side each other they might just find themselves in a spot of Barney Rubble.

    I only mean this as a harmless joke but Patty's final decision may well be influenced on whether or not he supports the eagles or dockers :wink:
