O'Reilly on "stress leave"
West Australian Racing
Principal RWWA Investigator Phil O'Reilly is rumoured to be on stress leave currently.
No doubt that leave would be granted with full pay and all of the associated benefits, O'Reilly stressed, pity the same courtesy & consideration wasn't extended to some of the people he's targeted.
Maybe when he embarks upon his new career he will become an inventor?

Surely the new poor devil should have been announced by now.
But, who in the hell would sup from the poisoned chalice??
Your guess is as good as mine.
probably on compo too.
i am eager to hear anything i can about those that are fully deserving of our contempt.
I stand by my original comments. O'Reilly the Stallion going on stress leave would be a far more interesting story.
Anyway, back to the important stuff......
you can't see the irony in this guy being on 'stress' leave?
of course it would be entirely different if you were the recipient, i would bet.
you would take it a tad more seriously, and would want your revenge, notwithstanding any legal settlement, so how about you just let it run its course and keep your boredom to yourself?
All these hate-filled threads are unhealthy. It's time for him to admit he is better than them, give them no more of his time, and gain his revenge by living well.
That's my honest opinion.
He has caused a lot of people a lot of grief in his manner and has never until now had to be accountable for his actions.
If he is out of line and investigated, the bigger question will be who manages him on a day to day basis and didn't put in checks and counter checks to ensure that he was proficient in his duties and had the appropriate training and direction to complete them in a manner that was acceptable to his managers.
He does work that no-one wants to do...and it is generally when there is contentious issues...As such there will very rarely be a total agreement by all parties of any of his outcomes.
There are a few people who have been on the recieving end of his investigations and quite rightly are upset and resentful of him and his style - or lack of!!!....Lets not forget that even though this is well documented his managers are happy for him to continue...maybe the few bad outcomes that are well known are far outweighed by the many that are not that well known???? I dont know, but i do know that every person doing his role or simialr has to answer up the line to someone and if that magical someone in this instance allows him to continue as long as he has then they must be happy with his overall performance..
The few on here who appear to have got a raw deal from his mannerism...i'm with Radman...Rise yourself above the situatin and go forward in a positive manner and prove your are the better people... O'Reilly and those that are responsible for his behaviours will eventually be dealt with...Until then for your own well being move on....
I am sure any organization that has internal problems would be very happy if no outside comment or scrutiny of the problems was made.
And things need to be changed. But some on this forum have been well and truly wronged by this guy...and as a result of them campaigning strongly, my undertanding is that some of the wrongs have been recognised and HE is now being properly investigated.
The "outside comment or scrutiny" has to be made..It has/or is.
I was just saying ...he is doing a tough job that very rarely keeps all parties happy...if due to this he is on stress leave, then he deserves the rights and support of anyone else who is injured in anyway as a result of their employment..
Good organisations actually enjoy and embrace people speaking up..the powers in this industry hate it and normally come down on them like a tonne of bricks....
Gotta go. Off to get my arse reammed by another power playing partner in this industry that is asking me to explain my comments!!!! haha...
Arlo...I know how important it is to commenrt..at any cost..i just want these guys to move on ...they had their say they were right..be happy..Move onto the next issue..cos there are heaps of them unfortunately :(

"if he is out of line" you are kidding aren't you, the only thing O'Reilly is entitled to is to be summarily dismissed.
This beg the question why seemingly intelligent people who represent RWWA are so desperate to defend him and his actions.
Could it be if he goes down the whole top echelon of RWWA officials goes with him.
"if he is out of line" you are kidding aren't you,
The question above is not for me or you, it is for his managers or RWWA officials to answer who are fully aware of his actions and outcomes..We can definitely have an opinion based on the side of stories that we know, but it is only those that have a full picture of all events who can give a definitive answer to that....
Up to this point they are obviously happy with his behavior - A lot of people may disagree - but if they have been supportive of him to this point then they need to continue with this support.
I am not saying that i agree with what has happened in some cases. I am saying that he works for people who have and continue to support his activities..if these people then say that his activities and outcomes are wrong then IMO they also need to be got rid of.
So yes i agree with hour comment Could it be if he goes down the whole top echelon of RWWA officials goes with him. 100% agreement from me. Responsibility for employees actions goes up the line.
And do we know for sure that he wasn't directed to investigate certain aspects of certain cases?????? It may be a case of him doing exactly as directed by people that manage him..Is he then responsible for the outcomes??? I certainly don't know, but if he is being investigated there is a good chance that there is more to the situation than what we see on the surface...Otherwise he would've been dismissed about 10 minutes into any investigation from what has happened on at least one investigation that he held and has been proven to be very wrong about.
"the buck stops here"?
Certainly not the laughably titled integrity committee, apparently no one is responsible for the conduct and actions of the staff and managers of this government funded organisation, not the racing minister and certainly not RWWA's CEO etc etc
surely that person at rwwa has a name???
Whoever THE PERSON is, i'd suggest that position is in more trouble then him..Unless they are conducting the investigation...then self preservation will take place and he will be up Crap Creek!!!!!
