Do tell, why would they deserve this dose of karma? It surely can't be the obvious . . . taking a horse from a Perth trainer to an E/S trainer, jeepers life no parole for that one.

Is there another event you're referring to.

Agree with darkshines here. If I owned the horse it wouldn't be in Taylors yard.... Probably not Mcnairs either ... But it certainly wouldnt be here
    in W.A.

    All the best to them

Some sense of loyalty would have kept this horse with Jim Taylor. Anyway they can enjoy it whilst it lasts, Barakey will give him an arse kicking if they ever meet.

I reckon this is a great situation for Hay List's owners.
Everyone expects BC to donkey lick him again yet she is backing up and dropping back from albeit a soft 1400m to the 1000m so arguably she could be vulnerable (if there is such a thing). Nothing to lose, plenty to gain - i.e. the one that knocked off the champ

i guess we wont be seeing this for a while as i'm pretty sure john mcnair is going to bypass the 74+ races at belmont this winter

i would be stunned if the mare started in the lightening.
i wonder what would happen if l.n. had to give her a few whacks with the whip?
i don't think she has tasted a flick.

She hasnt been whipped because the owners prohibited or whatever iirc

on the other hand, vorg, she has never needed it.
a cumulative winning margin of 61 lengths....good God..a whip? forget it.

Why would you need the stick when your running 10 second furlongs closing this is the smartest thing the HL owners and Mcnair has ever done they have conceded they wont see which way she goes horay horay finally common sense prevails

Dungy I'm just talking up a local horse. As you know, I put some effort into promoting the local product and I don't give a rat's ass for Eastern States horses and the prevailing attitude to the WA Racing scene being a forgotten backwater joke.

I don't care if it is true either. Anyone trying to sell a product has to believe in the quality of what he has on the shelf.

At least this one should be a bit more than a track gallop for her with hay List and Foxwedge accepting

I'll be there for the race, anyone heard if Hay List will start???
Apparently decision was going to be made today by connections.

Only 9 horses. What a farce.
  • kermietimekermietime    67 posts
$4 for Foxwedge in w/o BC market and $3.05 PYOF against Hay List looks good to me.
  • TheSwooperTheSwooper    1,718 posts
Why would 9 runners make it a farce? Most would say you have the best two short course horses in Australia going around. Are there many other chances out there that would have a realistic chance of winning?
  • VorgtrafficVorgtraffic    1,755 posts
I'll be keen to lay foxwedge the place

I just don't think its any good at all. Temple of boom- buffering - lone rock- metallurgical all have great chances and i don't thjink that foxwedge is any good at all.

He has won a few no competition races where he's box seated and went close to beating sepoy when the race was completely set up for him to swoop home. The telling tale in that race was how closely bunched the field was at the end. He is some chance but over 1000m first up ill be taking him on.
  • justmyluckjustmyluck    140 posts
No doubt she will win again....maybe she will beat her opponents by 4 lenghts...Hay List is not tired being 2nd,.....

GLYN Schofield says he won't be afraid to prick Black Caviar's protective bubble aboard Hay List in the Lightning Stakes on Saturday.
And bookmakers are also determined to take her on, sensing Black Caviar might be vulnerable, mainly owing to Hay List's return.

Jockeys have been criticised for riding too conservatively against Black Caviar, treating her as an ornament rather than a rival.

But Sydney-based Schofield said the gloves would be off when Hay List, the only horse to have stretched the unbeaten mare, renewed their rivalry in the Lightning.

"I won't be worried about intimidating Black Caviar in any way," Schofield said.

The ongoing message from Hay List's WA owners has been that their horse, who has been thrashed three times by Black Caviar, has never been at his best against her.

Part-owner Peter Davenport has "guaranteed" Hay List would one day be the first horse to bring Black Caviar undone.

Trainer John McNair said that Hay List, who will arrive in Melbourne tonight, was "as good as he could be".

Schofield also said Hay List, with two impressive trials under his belt after an injury lay-off, was "as ready as he could be to win first-up".

Schofield galloped Hay List at Grafton. "He felt super, ready to go," he said.

Black Caviar is a red-hot TAB Sportsbet $1.10 favourite to win her 19th straight race in the 1000m weight-for-age Lightning, with Hay List a distant second favourite at $9.

Part-owner Neil Werrett said yesterday Black Caviar was "95 per cent certain" to run at Flemington, with trainer Peter Moody adding only an unforeseen hiccup would stop her from running.

Betstar's Alan Eskander said bookie's were "put on this earth" to take on $1.10 favourites. "That's what we do. If we get caned by her again, so be it. But at the price, with Hay List there, we'd be gutless not to take her on."

Sportingbet's Bill Richmond said there was a slight risk with Black Caviar back to 1000m on Saturday.
