Americain - Stats

A few interesting stats - none of importance but I thought I would post it on here for anyone who likes stats.

Whilst Americain didn't win the Melbourne Cup this year - he did achieve three things:

He became the the fourth horse to do the Moonee Valley Cup / Sandown Classic Double. The other three were Sydeston (1989), Yarramba (1932) and Amissa (1912).

He also became the first horse in history to win the Moonee Valley Cup a year after his Melbourne Cup win.

Finally Americain became just the second horse to win the Sandown Classic a year after his Melbourne Cup win. The only other horse to do this was Light Fingers when she won the Melbourne Cup in 1965 and then won the Sandown Classic in 1966.

    You and your stats PC, I like em haha. I reckon they are good. You don't seem to say much on this forum but you always pop up and put some interesting stat on here every now and then. You should work for Skyracing or TVN - you could be the stats person lol.

    Your the one who does that WA racehorses top prizemoney earners list. Will you be doing an update of this as the last time you put the list (with an update) was 3 months ago.

    Yes I have always been into stats for horse racing. Some people say to me I live in the past too much and maybe I do but I just think that looking at past horse racing stats, wheather it be doubles or whatever are good to look at.

    I don't think I would get a job at TVN or Skyracing as I'm sure they have people for research on stats already.

    As for the prizemoney list: yes I will be putting the list on here again with an update in terms of changes to the list with some horses going up. I will be getting the list on here soon - I will wait until the end of the year and then I will put it up or maybe in the new year.
