What an absolute joke. And we thought WA was mickey mouse.

If it were any other battler inside Here De Angels, would they get him moved out a gate??? What's the point of even having rules. An absolute FARCE!

And I'm not just being a BC hater, best I've ever seen. You can't just make it up as you go along however.

    spot on DS

if HDA isnt safe to start next to then he should be barred and if he is then she should line up next to him. does every barrier rogue now have to step out if requested by the connections of the inside drawn horse

    absolute joke

    I think its fair enough

She's 1.04. Its a complete non event, why take a risk that moody scratches her. I'd be opposed to it in a serious race...but this isnt one.

Precedent was set when they over watered the track for Makybe Diva. Special rules shouldn't apply.

This is going way too far! If she is good enuf she will beat the field by 10 lengths. Special treatment is bullsh*t, i dont care how good you are! Brings racing into to disrepute IMO......

This unfortunately does two things which shouldn't happen, it gives special treatment to a single runner, but it also suggests that stewards agree that HDA is a problem but they will let it slide as long as they take SPECIAL steps to avoid a problem........If HDA passes a trial to satisfaction then there shouldn't be an issue and hence no special treatment.

Hate to think what they might do to the track if she came to ascot.......or if Freetime runs in the Winterbottom :?

    Big oh dear here

Complete disgrace. If Tony Vasil viewed his concerns about Balavan's safety, he would be laughed out the door. Question I want answered is what would have happened if it was a capacity field? Would the stewards just withdraw HDA because he may lash out? Don't get me wrong I love BC, but this is going too far!
  • well done stewards

finally a common sense approach and result to an obvious problem and for the betterment of racing

complete win-win situation for all owners and punters in this case

Long suspected it, but now it's official. You've got NFI

    hahahahaaha
  • cant see what the problem is - all parties are happy with the outcome

I'm sure stewards get hundreds of requests from trainers - Im sure many are refused

but if there is a workable solution in the best interests of racing and not unjust to competitors then why not?

please show me where in the rules this is not allowed?

Why don't they give BC barrier six?

Yep - she should just go to the outside on her own - better option.
But as Della says - everyone happy, no problem

    Completely agree.

Why is BLACK CAVIAR caught up in this, simply because she had gate 4? The move was made for the benefit of HDE was it not?
  • Peter Moody is the one who asked for the move

    Ah ok.

So if she was to come to Perth and race on the concrete that is Ascot and Moody asked for it to be watered or he scratches, I suppose you bunch of fools would be against that as well because you'd rather see a modern day champion break down or get hurt in the gates than just see a modern day champion! It's easy to pick the horse lovers from the punters on this forum..

    I'm sorry, which are you?

Most horse lovers would like to see a competitive race raced on equal terms! No favours! Best horse wins!

But I can understand why BC gets special treatment, she draws money! Most horses on their own do not!

How have they done her a favour she drew 4 and starts from 4?? Only a moron punter would think HDA is now disadvantaged when he had 4 horses drawn inside of him and still does. Don't get me wrong racing needs punters but at the moment racing needs Black Caviar!

I have just re read the Phar Lap story, what we don't want to get to here is two & three horse fields. Phar Lap beat a lot of really good horses, but he also had a lot of races against nobodies that were running around for second prizemoney when the good horses stayed away for another day.

You only have to look at Irish Racing to see what can happen to quality horses with next to nothing running against them, the victories are not worth a whole lot. Group 1 winners have to travel to have their home victories endorsed.

On a local note, I hope Scenic Blast aquits himself, he would be something if he could recapture his glory days. Maybe not tomorrow, but at Flemington I think there will be genuine concern for the unbeaten streak.
