I was told by George Daly nearly 5 yrs ago to get out of the game because it was a dead end, 5yrs later guess what - they are scratchings there heads wondering where the hell they are going to scrape some money from, how to get people to the track, how to get future generations involved in the game and every other question which has been raised, maybe i should've taken his advice and followed in Bob Myers foots steps and got me a house full of girlies and name the residence 'the pink house' P (that is if anyone follows my drift)

we need a WA champion to go thru the ranks, but to signify early he or she is going to be a champion. Maybe win his maiden by 10 lens and his next 3 or 4 by margins. Race him or her right through the grades before going east. That will get the crowds back.....

    Anyone got one of them?

Maybe not a WA Champion, but dont tell me Black Caviar wouldnt get people back to the races! She packed Doomben last weekend and she will continue to do it wherever she goes.

Should think a horse like Im Themightyquinn will get some people to the interdoms next year but apart from that not sure we have much in the way of champions here yet.

I am not a racegoer and can't see me starting here in Perth. I can see Melbourne races online or at TAB. Perth racing needs to be the same and that may entice me oncourse. Young people would have to see facilities to handle large crowds easily were available at the track. On a Saturday once they knew things were ok and a Rock Concert or the like AFTER race meeting, might entice them oncourse. FIRST THEY NEED TO SEE PERTH races online ( unless that is possible now perhaps on thier I phone ) about that I know nothing. If crowds continue to be low then the industry will have to do without them. However young people must punt a lot online or at TAB. Why then are they missed at the TRACK itself. As long as money enough is PUNTED, what is the problem. TIMES change and the INDUSTRY might have to change with those times. ???????????
