i recall one here in perth many years ago...but i do not recall the reason.

punters were trying to extracate bricks to hurl at the jockey.

Well blow me down actually saw that race - was a 3 horse field and Cieren Fallon aboard the 9/2 rank outsider.

Was a terrific struggle all the way up the straight - the 2/5 favourite looked home and gone a few times before running second.

Was almost a 3 way photo at the end - Fallon's mount dropped off them a couple of times but never gave up - can say with 99.9% assurance he was trying and even though last in the field of 3 less than half a length from the winner gave the rank outsider at 9/2 every chance.

Been talked about before but i heard every swear word known to man and was in the old Ascot Ledger at the time 200 metres away when Allegation defeated Kabooki in that Perth Cup.

Now a totally out of form 100/1 shot could win the Perth Cup and you wouldn't hear a pin drop of complaint - you'd be escorted off the track - times have changed for the better - well no not in all cases.

Many  many years ago i queried one of Paul Dysons beaten rides , coming back to the mounting yard with all the other unplaced runners , and i just said to him no shouting at him hey Dyson that was a pretty ordinary ride wasnt it , which i thought it was 

And he replied ( while he was still on the horse ) in a very aggressive manner - GAGF  , ha

The name Fallon and shifty business has been in the same sentence a few times Before! riders is on the money with Allegation winning the Perth Cup for Milky Evans it was your good old Hostile Demonstration the punters hurled plenty of abuse at Trainer chuckles Williams lindsay rudland and Milky with cat crys Boos and Rub them out as well as a few racebooks thrown at connections, there were some other beauties in the 70s if frank tiger moore ever got a cook for a bad ride he would spit back at the punters over the fence. And when they took the railway off la trice in 1970 The punters gave it to the stewards roy edwards smashed his binocs over the rail outside the stewards room But even during any of those fracas i never saw any gorillas frog march anyone off course

Old bloke gave it to Rod Staples back in the day when the jockeys weighed in and walked up to the jocks room through the parade ring . Was giving him a good bake. Rod said how much did you lose then went on to say meet me outside the jocks room after the last and I will give it back to you only if you go to the dentist and get some new dentures. The old bloke had about 2 teeth in his gob

I've read this one too along the lines of TJ Smith being furious with a jockey and the hoop said well you wouldn't know how to ride Mr. Smith can't recall you riding too many winners...TJ replied yes that's right and I'm not a chicken either I can't lay eggs, but I sure as hell know how to cook 'em!!
