Queen's was my best bet of the day but was working and couldn't post it.

    :)) :)) :))

Last start 8th at Narrogin. FFS Falcon and I could run a place at Narrogin.

In my illustrious career I recall two local roughies in that price range. One at Ascot late 70s ridden by now trainer Russel Stewart on one of his first rides and the other possibly in late 90s or year 2000 at Belmont and a reasonable trainer. A relative visiting had a tenner on it and I took it in field quinella and double for her sake. Great result for all concerned.

My best roughie result as a kid was at Northam in late 70s, I was in front on the day and in the last fancied an eastern stater first up in the last Bon Soleille or similar french name trained by Brian Mueller. It came from last on the turn to win at over $50 on the tote. Win and novelties. A great result concluding a fantastic day for a then teenager. I then hopped on the race bus home with wads in all pockets.

I even recall the saddlecloth number.. 5. My regret was not purchasing a framed photo of the result.

My other very big collect in late seventies was a double by jockey N Barrett (Chris) in Victoria who I keenly followed on heavy tracks
