One time Melbourne Cup hope Savennah's Knight ran super at good odds....ran 5th in the Arc. Was meant to come to Melbourne for the Cup, they chose the Arc instead.

The only thing certain about this Melbourne Cup so far is the lunch I am hosting.

Not over keen on any horse at the moment but time should change that.

You're not the only person to say that. There's also lots on racing forums in the internet who are saying that they aren't keen on the race this year. Sort of lacks a vibe or potentially lacks depth class wise.

Will be interesting how it pans out.

Bendigo Cup winner UK horse Sea King was very impressive. Was never going to lose from the 800. Should win or at least run first 4 in cup.

I think Zac went off too early last year and more patiently ridden plus the team learning from the experience my selection at the moment is Absurde

i know teo nugents don't usually win mcs, but i think interpretation has an excellent chance.

Absurde.  I recall King of Saxony winning the Perth Cup first up over 3200 but has a horse ever won the Melbourne Cup first up? I think it can make amends for last year when well backed late and went a fraction too early.

Saint George. Lightly raced but ran some nice races in UK Will stay on and be right in the finish. Huge chance

Warp Speed. Forget Caulfield Cup run as track conditions didn't suit. Huge improver in this race and can win it at odds

Sea King won the Bendigo Cup easily and should have just about won the Ebor at York which is good form for this race

Okita Soushi In a race that seems to lack speed pacesetters it may possibly lead just about all of the way. If left alone early it should give plenty of cheek in the straight

Only 5.5 kg from top to bottom weight makes the race very interesting.

As an aside I was viewing a Cup tipping panel progamme however a panelist on the show and I have no idea who he was selected a hurdler first up over 2800 in R5 Point Nepean. It was $101 but now $34 He all but declared it a special.
