After two average bets(or efforts by horse or rider)i backed Thunder Beauty in R4 for the place on Ladbrokes with their bonus cash lol :D Daniel Tudhope gets level in the jock challenge too.
Having some luck with the 2yo's backed both winners last nite, no spoils on the prices but you know what they say about a shortpriced winner... Tipping their best night so far for team Aiden O'Brien'.. his lad has upstaged him so far.
R1 The Antarctic can roll.the fav, having a spec on Thunder Moor of course after Thunder Beauty last nite.Same steerer Daniel Tudhope(who deadheated in the jocks challenge last night)rides again, it has some de javu about it unlikely but could they jag a win even?.. And could he figure in the JC again? possibly! I'm off to check his rides in the handicap races, he has a good chance in R2 so if he jags a place or better on Thunder Moor it's on..maybe.
R3 Aussie Tom sounded very bullish about Sea Silk Road, still seeking his first winner this could be the horse. R4 Ascot Gold cup the big race, i'm raining on the Stradivarius parade and have already backed Kyprios for team A O'brien.
The old girl mustn't be well Queen Lizzie, ill be cheering on her shorty in R6.
Agree, Gold Cup was a terrific contest. I find it pretty good watching for some strange reason.....I mean there is a lot of froth and bubble from all the luvlies with their silly hats and so on but it is engrossing. Did John Gosden deliver the most polite bake ever to Dettori? Was O'Brien doing the same with his 20 mentions of "Ryan gave him a good ride".....Moore did Dettori cold to my untrained eye, great ride, almost as good as J Mac's two peaches on the first 2 days. And what about the demo derby in the 5 furlong race from the 40/1 pop? And then poor ol Lizzies two good chances run 2nd, I think because they were not quite good enough on the day rather than pilot error. Anyway, it's buggering up sleep patterns but I must admit to really enjoying the coverage.
Same here Jay Jay it has been pretty good overall hasn't it and fascinating racing. Moore outrode him fair and square I agree, maybe unpopular opinion and i concede i dont follow him but I've seen Dettori do more average than good things, always have thought he is a bit of a dh really..alternately there is no mug lair in Ryan Moore he is a gun.
Honourable mention to James Tsefaris(unsure of how his surname is spelt)our Aussie link on the ground over there on course, have enjoyed his interviews is doing a great job.
I got rather excited when Nature Strip blitzed them and the ride on the other winner was great and a nice back story with their association from years ago when Jmac stayed with him, touching stuff I like that to add to the story. Its impossible not to like James Macdonald has some cheek/personality, is a happy well spoken young guy and pretty humble gets emotional too I've noticed.
Enjoyed the racing and there horses majority are very calm seen one race on Tuesday where the jockeys throw the towels out the back when the gates open . Thoughted six furlongs to go Frankie was sending clear messages I got to get out of here. clearer not riding well hindsight but 200 years. Ago the rails was shortest way and still is.
Low draws(far side)have been a big advantage in the straight races, R2 likely the main players are indeed Go Bears Go mentioned already, Perfect Power has gate 1, Ehraz gate 4 and a little maddie the filly Sacred Bridge who has won 4 times at 1200 is $23+ atm.Wings Of War being mentioned and has an enforcer jockey on.
El Caballo can't win its drawn 20 the grandstand side.
18 stayers in a 2400m handicap should be pretty easy..not. Not very original or big value but reckon the much maligned man could bounce back today? Dettori i speak of and he rides Trawlerman a big chance. Moore rides Just Fine it will be right there for the gun and the one I like at much better odds is Briliant Light who could provide the upset.
* hearing Just Fine is Lizzies galloper, she must be due!
Plenty of celebrities spotted too, Bobby Flay a bigtime yank chef and Michael Owen who owns some.of the last winner, he played that round ball game alright too back in the day.
Dettori's ride Trawlerman never likely maybe he is just not going to win any races again today. Is on the hot fav R4 I reckon it will lose too.Cachet or Mangoustine for me.
Little went right for Inspiral and Frankie but the horse was good enough to overcome it....a few hail mary moves from Dettori paid off....then we had to put up with all the histrionics and star jumps from him but Gosden didn't miss him again, relaying in interview that both of the slaughter jobs from the day before were well and happy.......with a none too faint hint of irony. I think Moore, Buick (and JMac) would be trainers preference these days?
Dettori is still a world class rider and yes he is getting on but it happens to them all. Far too many people judge him based on his efforts in the Melbourne Cup.
What a lot of people fail to remember is his ride on the Goldolphin horse Central Park (57.5kg) in the 1999 Melbourne Cup.
Central Park was paying around 50/1 to win the Cup that year and ended up running 2nd, beaten by Western Australia's Rogan Josh by half a length. Central Park was the second-stringer for Godolphin's Cup campaign that year, their main chance was Kayf Tara who was the best stayer in Europe (or one of the best) at the time and had been allocated 58.5kg for the Melbourne Cup.
Kayf Tara was favourite for the Cup but 3 or 4 days before the race Kayf Tara broke down and was scratched. It left Goldophin with their second stringer in Central Park who ended up running a fantastic race and Frankie rode Central Park a treat, nearly led all the way to win the Cup.
But back onto tonight at Royal Ascot 2022. I think Artorius is a good chance to run well in the Jubilee Stakes so I will back him each way.

That was nearly 23 years ago PC..he is on the decline and is a bit of a wanker to boot. Just calling it how i see it from afar, am sure though many overseas people love him. Hint John Gosden isn't one of them at least at the moment lol
As we wait to see how Home Affairs and Artorius perform in the G1 Jubilee Stakes, let's go back and see how Australian trained horses have performed in the race

Even that Daniel Tudhope looks a likely type if given the right horses.
I'll be strapping in again for night 5.
