Small piece in this mornings paper saying Lester Piggot has passes away at the age of 86. Rode his firts winner when he was twelve years old

    That is the start of an old joke Falcon.

    I have posted an informative piece in the Eastern States category.

    Piggot and Ryan Moore both great riders but have a bit in common...  Not much on the personality front and rarely smile. Mostly look miserable. A hard life being worth a squillion.

    an old story was Lester use to wrap up his cash in plastic bags and hide in the toilet cistern, having 3 or 4 toilets meant there was a lot of cash.His Chauffer never turned up for work one day,cash dissapeared same day

    I can recall Lester Piggott riding in Perth, late 60's early 70's?

    Rode a winner Free Style? or similar for Ron Mitchell? ex Kal.

    I'm battling to recall exactly what I had for lunch never mind that far back.

    Luap Ron Mitchell had one eye ended up certifiably blind . Had a old barn stable one block back from Great Eastern Highway and Moreing street . Same Ron Mitchell?
