Opened 34 and quickly into 9.5

Back out to 21 this morning now into 13 again.

I'll be having something each way on Klondike Kenny again, since I hate money. Been blocked, battered and unlucky pretty much every race this prep. When he finally gets a decent run he should come close.

Brelleta Five stormed home last start and looks to be a good staying type. Sharon Miller trains also which gives me extra confidence.

Gees Jell, like myself, you are a glutton for punishment. Have also been on Klondike Kenny this time in but it is definitely a few lengths off its efforts from last prep

Achernar Star was awesome 1st up last time and this is field is a few lengths weaker for mine.

Go Crying has been in rare form and if not too far off them, should go close again.

Think I'll box all of these with Brelleta Five. Good punting

He rode Brelleta Five a treat.

Can’t complain where Joey got to from that barrier. They walked though so he was going to find it hard to catch the leaders on the turn.

I got 2.6 the place though so can’t complain.

Any chance Willie can ride somewhere else.He is too good. Achernar was well ridden and had its chance.

Shows the current depth when a 90+ race is won by and 82 rater starting at 2.40..

    Lockroy was pathetic.

Roses Shadow salutes at $10, they must have knew it was on today. That'll do me, I couldn't have found that in a 2 horse race, let alone at $10.

They went too slow for Go Crying. I'm a poor judge.

Noticed Pikey was a riding change on Mattys Choice - form read 8X099 - he got it up for a drum at around 25/1 and 9/2 a place.

If anybody could do it he could, when he was first staring out regularly got roughies into the money.

Pike rides Matty’s choice into a drum, he’s pure magic

    Makes you wonder two things.
    1. What does it pay for a place if Pike not riding ?

    2. Does it run a place?!!
  • ChrisChris    5,697 posts
    It doesn’t run a place, it doesn’t even run within 10L - it’s a pig

Recall being in the Kelmscott tab - must be getting close 20 to years ago - was watching a Belmont Park midweek meeting - wet conditions - big field, all across the track and noticed a horse looking for a run where their was nowhere to go - it took nerves of steel to drive it through and burst away to win at over 20/1.

No interest betting wise in the race - but who rode that - it was amazing, jump up to the board to look who it was - Willy Pike - yep think he's gunna be pretty good that guy.

Just can't believe that around 20 years have gone by.

The good old jockey/driver change was a good way to improve the odds and set a horse up for a win many years ago, when it was only radio - and make it as late as possible.
That definetly went on at the trots, especially over east.

A lot of early money was on - things were a little more obscure then, a jockey change or driver change could go through with little fanfare - just a scribble on the board - if it was noted at all!
