Chris, speaking for myself, and I am sure all members of this punters club, we trust you implicitly.
I have read the thread for week 150 over and over, and I can't find anyone who asked for a bet of 100 places on Roganella.
So, I think it very fair to ask, who asked for that particular bet? I would ask further, what odds were"we" given, and even further, what balance is now in the account.
You always nominate two people to be our tipsters. This week, none were.
Therefore, no one can complain about the fact that they picked a winner, because we have never, to the best of my memory had 4 or 5 people making selections, and as I said, you didn't nominate anyone anyway.
Perhaps on this occasion we could have given each of those who actually offered up a selection, $40.00 on their horse of choice. But, it didn't happen, and no one suggested it.
As I see it Chris, to the best of my knowledge, you run this punters club.
If you are silent due to computer malfunction, or you are ill, or away on holidays, and we don't either get confirmation of whose turn it is to select a horse, or if we do get confirmation, are not informed as to what odds we are getting, the rule is, that we are not on.
And there have been a number of times when horses have been selected but for various reasons, you were not in a position to to let us know what odds we were getting, therefore it's no bet.
We all understand the rules, so when suddenly a place bet appears from nowhere and that is all the information that we get, it's got nothing to do with trust, it's got to do with a lack of information.
And that is all that we ask for.
So let's move on.
I reckon that there would now be $200 in the account, as a result of Roganella running the drum.
Can we please make a decision one way or the other as follows.
We either donate the money to the Let's Make a wish Foundation or we give 5 of us a tip next week with a bet of $40.00 each, on our selection.
Chris, if it is decided to be the latter, then let's make a FINAL decision on this by Thursday morning. The fields come out on Wednesday for Saturday.
Anyone who thinks they have a horse that can win on Saturday, show your interest in tipping a horse by the latest, on Thursday night.
Chris, on Friday, you nominate 5 of those who have expressed interest, to select a horse.
If it's only 5, they are obviously all in it, and each one gets $40.00 to have on their choice. If it's only 4, then they get $50.00 .
If the same horse is selected by say two people, then let's have $80.00 on it, or $100 on it whatever the case may be.
If we can't agree on this course of action, then let's just donate the money, where kids with incurable cancer will get some good out of it.
Chris, I am sure that I can speak on behalf of everyone who has partaken in this Punters Club, that we appreciate all you have done over the last 150 weeks.
When this club arrives at it's conclusion, I know that we will all join in wishing you only the very best, and every success for the future.
