As things continually change from the last time I was on course.  What is the dress standard now for the first floor. Shutdowns have now finished and I will be there nice and early. Just need to know dress standard as last time I was there I had to sneak in as  some bitches idea of the dress standard. Is different to mine.

If anyone wants to catch up for a frothy or 15 give me a buzz on here.

Think you generally have to be dressed neat, smart casual for the 1st floor, which is fine!

Last week the hilarious bloke in the pineapple suit got in, so who knows? Guess it was still a suit :)

No thongs and no shorts is the way to go. I also stay away from denim. A pair of slacks and an untucked shirt always gets me in with no issues.

shorts are OK....after I asked peter gangemi to step in....not into the shorts..but to relax the rules on the 1st floor...after all it IS a public floor.

Public floor with dress standards. Doesnt sound that difficult to comply. No different to pubs and clubs that are public but have dress standards. Who wants to look like a slob anyway?

Well the last time I was there. (Awhile ago now) I think it was the first day of the dress standard. I was refused entry with dress shorts, boat shoes and a tee shirt and the bitch refused me entry because I needed a collared shirt apparently. So I was no slob.

After that I wrote a letter to The West Australian, to the editor and they ran it. About how disappointed I was, with it being a public bar and all. I am led to believe they have relaxed the rules a little bit.

Clubs pubs racetracks footy clubs etc etc make the rules and dress standards and we go along with it or go to another area or tell them to get stuffed and dont go. Simple. Do you write to the editor about everything you disagree with? You should understand that there are many people who agree with the dress standards on that floor based on the numbers there and their dress.

No I do not write to the editor about everything I disagree with. I have written only two letters. Both issues I felt strongly about.

My dress attire that day cost well over $350 (more expensive than most cheap **** suits getting around on that floor)

"AND"  I never once complained on this forum or in the letter that I disapproved of "A" dress code. I complained that they took it to far. Some sluut can wear absolutely fuuck all in a $10 dress from Kmart (which I quiet enjoy)  with open sandals and get in. but men had to be covered from top to toe on a 36 degree day. To me that is Buullshit.

I actually agree in a dress code of some form. All I have asked on here to is what is the actual Dress code so I can get in on Saturday. I don't need some swallower jumping in and having a crack at what I believe in.

YOU need to understand, a lot of people are not going to the track now, because of these standards. They would rather be somewhere else in comfort. And the club can not understand why their crowds are down. Take away the big crowds they draw to the 4 main meetings a year. They get no one through there gates

I take on board what you are saying Jum but I think you have one thing wrong. I think that more people will stay away if the dress standard becomes a free for all with thongs and singlets. I for one don't want to hang out in Plebsville. And I don't go around in Armani suits, but a pair of pants and a shirt isn't much to ask even in high heat.

I agree Para, but I know of busloads(they take my work bus) of people from my way that head up to Perth every month or so and whilst the women are shopping they head to Crown's sportsbar or a pubtab Saturday afternoon instead of actually going on course because of the dress code.

Maybe we can put all the people in thongs and singlets in the infield like they did in the 1920s and 30s

    =))  I am joking

I do wear descent attire and have no objection to it. And I will wear what I have too. I only asked what was the requirement.

"which I quite enjoy" love your work brother

kinda like that saying, women expect men to look fit, in shape, sexy and not overweight but as soon as a female grows a couple extra dress sizes or an extra tyre round the waist blokes are supposed to look at is as being curvy and sexy... talk about two different sets of rules

Bus loads of people who wont wear pants shirts and shoes to the races. Wow. Probably a good thing really because the first floor has been packed lately with those who dress according to there dress standard. Be no room for the bus.

they relaxed from a tuxedo when I complained to peter gangemi.....I was in tailored shorts, shirt and deckies. on the same day a mate of peter bells was knocked back and he was with his wife and kids.

    it was changed immediately....
