A little rant.
Breeding
I'm getting the breeding and racing bug again which has made me think about things and how I personally make future decisions so let me know if I'm being unfair?
Battlers I love a battler, a trainer with only a few horses who diserves a chance and you know your horse gets 110% but don't get that trainer mixed up with the battling trainer that can't train a horse :)
Darley, you support a new European stallion and when they kick a goal or two they never come back.
That pees me off.
We all know very good mares get a free or very cheap service but when a stud promotes this service it pees me off.
When a sire gets old or just isn't commercial they send it to WA and try to convince breeders that it will suddenly improve that pees me off.
When you go to the races and the BEER costs more then a house payment.
That Pees me off.
I'm no Lyodd Williams but a honest person or bussiness will always get my money.
A stud master with an underrated stallion will get my mares before a hyped up fashionable stallion.
The bottle shop that's not trying to rip me off will get my money.
A trainer with integrity and a smile will get my racehorse.
Racing has changed so much in my eyes and how I do bussiness and some things just pee me off :)

The only one I'd yarn with you about over a beer or 5 is where you send your mare - send her to the bull that is going to give her the best chance (within your budget ofc) of producing a decent one.
If you dont like the studmaster - van serve her and take her home / send her somewhere you do like :)

Some things are for sure and that is a good mare can produce to nearly anything.
I've got an older mare and I've used stallion match on her a million times over the years and it comes up with different nicks and what ever studs stallions that have payed the most money ;)
I also believe in a few things and that is if you have a mare don't look at the best stallion that's had the cream of mares and go man that guys getting winners everywhere and think that it's going to work for you.
It's look at the stallions that have done the hard yards and moved up the ranks by upgrading there mares and there is a lot out there.
ALSO I'm a believer but also pulled two ways on the appearance of a yearling or race horse as here in oz a nice yearling will get the money but as Lloyd said himself that in the early days he bought big strong horses that looked like fabio and had no luck but after buying the true European types done much better and I do believe it's the engine room that counts more then the pretty sales picture so look at the specs not the duco.
